Favorite Companion.

From Doctor Who, just so we get that out of the way. There's no poll because there's way too many companions to fit, but post away. Any criteria goes, from looks to talent to the fact that they're a robot dog.

Leela. Or Ace. The Doctor does well with a strong woman at his side. Preferably one armed with a dagger or a bat.

List of those companions least likely to get votes here: Ben, Polly, Katarina, Kamelion, Dodo, Grace, Steven, Melanie and Vicki.

Add Sara Kingdom to that list if you count her as a companion.

Mel was teh uberworst.

Jo Grant was no sweet bouquet herself, either.

The screechy ones are... well... (help me out here, BWO)

With a bit of training and a surgically-implanted nose-laser, you might just have a viable companion, there.

He IS microchipped. 'tis but a short jump to laser implantation.

Adric - nominated for greatest Doctor Who closing titles, ever.

(In the episode "Earthshock", serious contendor for best Who episode, despite Peter Davison).

I've only seen the new "Dr. Who" series, and Billie Piper's character is far too ditzy to get my vote.

I seriously considered Rose, but I feel more strongly attuned to Ace and Leela.

The best pseudo robot dog ever was not from doctor who but from the movie A boy and his dog. The dog had radar and could telecommunicate. And his name was Blood.

At least she's not a screamer, unlike 95% of all the previous female companions.

K-9 was undoubtedly my favourite. Quite liked Ace, Ardic and Sarah-Jane too. I actually didn't mind Rose, 'ditzy' or not, but like I said in the other Doctor Who thread, I thought the two series that involved her played a little too much on her relationship with the Doctor; it's a science fiction series, not a will-they-won't-they romance.

Dunno about the best, but I always thought the hottest was Zoe (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://texasbestgrok.mu.nu/images/leela200.jpg&imgrefurl=http://texasbestgrok.mu.nu/archives/2005_01.php&h=283&w=200&sz=45&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=-VppP81R1daL4M:&tbnh=110&tbnw=77&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dromana%2B%2522dr.%2Bwho%2522%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D).

It was a good way to engage female viewers. It worked. I thought it was well done, not overbearing and pretty believable. Excellent ending to series 2, the only way to do it really.

Rose and Ace, equally good.

i would have to say lilla of the sevateam. pants, i mean hands, down.

k-9 was definately cool, back in the days of 8-bit computing and made out of comodore and atari parts, parts i had once myself.

for the girls adric was of corse the classic of all time i would guess.

blake's 7 had a couple of cool silicon personalities too.

space pirate escapees from a prison planet. how cool was that?

back to the tardus, there was that girl who liked to graffitti and blow up things, i can't remember her name at the moment but she was kind of fun in a totaly insane way too.

Well, when I saw "Who is your favorite companion" I initially was going to answer as any true Browncoat would and say Inara Serra but then you qualified it with the Dr. Who announcement...

I have to say for me it changed with the regenerations of the Dr.

But... in no particular order

Peri
Leela
Ace
Rose
Nyssa
Romana I (least ways more than II)

I expect I am forgetting a few
