Turn off the damn Cell Phones!

Ok, last Saturday I went to go see Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest. While the movie itself was great, the audience could've been better. In the three hour movie I've seen at least 10 cell phones being opened up or turned on/off. Several rings, and those damn annoyings chirps. Now yesterday, at mass, where everything was going nice and quiet, we get ta da, five rings in an hour long mass! We also got that annoying chirp. What is it with people and using the damn cell phone in the most inappropriate place ever? I mean comon, can't these people stand to have their cell phone turn off for an hour or two? I mean it's not going to kill you if you're disconnected from the world for that long. No medical and police offical, I understand and have no problem with, however everyone else needs to turn the damn cell phones off! I actually suggested to Father Gray that they keep a bin outside the church in the main lobby saying "Drop Cell Phone off Here." He's actually considering it. The movies theathre, not so much. Anyways, here is the list of places where I think cell phone should be turned off.

It's because people don't have any common courtesy. You really shouldn't be surprised at this.

Yea, but the next guy who's cell phone ring in the movies theathre, church, or dinner with the gal will be recieving calls from his ass.

This is odd to me. I've only once heard anyone using mobile in cinema/theatre/opera (on dinners, yes, but I don't think that's such a bad mistake). Is this common in other countries too?

Well, I'm here in the library, and though I've turned my phone to vibrate, I guess I'm sorta guilty because it has rung twice in the last half-hour. I left before talking though - and hell this is Israel, so compared to the surrounding mob, I'm being very considerate indeed.

In Cineplex theatres cellphone usage is prohibited.
They give a nice dramatic warning before the movie starts.
If anyone was to use a cellphone and be caught they would most likely be kicked out of the movie.

I haven't seen it yet.
