Unexpected things on shows

homosexuality:
Saturday night/yesterday morning, I watch Ghost in the Shell. Part of it featured Major(the most likely protagonist. The only obviously female member of Section (I forgot the number). Anyway, Major was almost naked in a room. She got off a bed, which had two other, basically naked, women sleeping in it. No, they really were sleeping. Major even had a conversation with a woman in the same episode that seemed to have a hidden message that would explain why I never saw Major go out with any of the male members of Section(tell me the freak'n number).

Inuyasha:
An hour after GitS, Inuyasha was on. One of the ninja demon villian things was this spiky-red haired guy who seemed excited to get to kill the one of the protagonists(either the monk, who's the Inuyasha equivalent of Family Guy's sex-crazed Quagmire or the wimpy samari). Anyway, the redhead was licking the guy. Not those big cartoony licks. These were small, romantic licks. There was something going on. The red head even mentioned something about a "cute little samari". Eww. I can stand lesbien acts, but once they break the one-penis-max. rule, I'm grossed out.

What are some unexpected things you saw on the idiot box? It doesn't have to be cartoon or homosexuality related.

I think they meant that it had straight things in it. If it has at least one non-round surface in it, it's straight. You might have watched a straight homo flick.

You watch anime, and you don't expect this?!
Meh, I'm not bothered by it. As long as it doesn't get hard core.

I've watched Inuyasha and Ghost in the Shell for a while now and this is the first time I experienced any homo acts.

I like that most are focusing on the homosexual act itself, rather than the fact that theres sex in a cartoon

.. as for me, I haven't really seen anything that was unexpected or shocking that I can think of... give it 2 days and i'll think of something, then i wont be able to find the thread!

Ever seen Neon Genesis Evangelion? No. But I've heard thing.. A certain scene in the hospital I think.. I thought people had made it up first (it was in a webcomic spoof), but then I was told it actually happens..

I like that most are focusing on the homosexual act itself, rather than the fact that theres sex in a cartoonWell, first off, there is no mention of sex. Second, it's japanese anime, not disney. The japanese don't hold to 'cartoons are for 8-year olds' paradigm. They have genres for all ages. Some mild suggestion doesn't do any harm in anime targetted at a teen audience.

What about the "cute little samari" comment? Who calls food cute? You call little kids, animals, pictures, toys, and members of your prefered gender cute, but not meals.

That demon has to be gay. If he wasn't(either gay or a he), then that would just make more questions than answers.

That episode also had her interview a guy who was watching porn. They didn't show anything, but you could hear it.

The monk was pretty freaked out as well. That demon just would not leave him alone. That monk is not gay as far as I know. Although, as a monk, he should probably lay off the ladies. I've seen him hit on a few.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is very good, but I haven't seen the movie "The End of Evangelion" (the one with the hospital scene). I don't know if I want to see it, depending on what they show. I can handle suggestive content, but I don't want to see hardcore stuff. Honestly, I think Shinji is bisexual and from what I've read, the movie is just Hideaki Anno's "middle finger" to the fans.

In japan, one does call their food Cute when it's served in a pleasing way, form or package. so yes, "Cute Little Samurai" can mean he finds the samurai, he is about to eat, cute. what the demon can also find cute is the act of defiance the samurai is putting up.

Or it could have meant both at the same time, and what would be wrong with that? A little bit of sexual cannibalism never hurt anyone.
Well, except the people who get eaten, but they're dead and, therefore, unimportant.

true, it is a demon, so it might want to play with it's food first...

The major is a full cyborg body and in the movie she was naked - you had to be naked to use full-body invisicamo unlike the anime. In the manga there was a hot lesbian scene with the major and I would assume those two girls. I just remembered that watching it the other night.

It's made pretty clear in the manga that Mjr. Kusanagi is pretty...ambisexual in terms of her preferences. She sleeps with a guy from Section 6(?) pretty regularly, but also has some sexual encounters with other 'droids in "full-download/no real body" mode that are portraying themselves as women at the time. It's likely, as removed from her body as she is, that she may have no particular preference except for certain individuals she finds pleasing.

Remember, at the end of the original manga, she picks up a female-or-androgynous-looking "spare body" that...turns out to have a dick. She isn't fazed by this at all. Gender, and, indeed, physical sexing, may be largely meaningless to her.

Getting off the topic of anime, but sticking with 'Unexpected things on shows', I remember I was watching that cruddy The Mummy cartoon and there's this weasely archaeologist guy working for Imhotep the Purple Mummy, and in this episode he betrayed Imhotep but had his plans foiled. So at the end he's groveling to Imhotep for forgiveness all "I swear I'll serve you!" or so and then Imhotep says "Oh you will, in more ways than you can possibly imagine." I just sort of stared at the screen for awhile thinking 'Wait, did he really just say that?'
