I'd say Germany has the best heart-tugging anthem, the French have the best soul-stirring anthem, and PRC has the best anthem for marching.
Oh, and I gotta give Ukraine credit for having the best post-USSR "intimidation" anthem.

Belgium

I've always liked the Canadian national anthem. It sounds very regal.

I also liked the Soviet national anthem. It sounds proud, yet sad. Just like the Russians.

The Russian National Anthem sounds fantastic. I like the Irish one too (bit could I be a little bit biast? never!)

Cuba. So cheerful.

Japan's. Kimigayo is haunting and you have to give points for shortest.

I did a thread about this once, complete with nominations and a final vote. From what I recall, Russia's was voted the best anthem, with France's coming second.

I do think France's is very good, but then I'm biased. To me, Russia has the most beautiful anthem, with Israel probably second (the music is very moving).

Yeah, the Japanese anthem is very beautiful. As is the Israeli one.
