So I love Jimmy Eat World, and was wondering how many of you feel the same way. Jew (as I will now refer to them as, please don't take offense, my grandparents are jewish) dominates....who agrees?

Oh yeah, I love that band! Although I think the CD they had before the newest one was the best. "The Middle" is so overplayed and NOT even close to their best song...although, "Hear You Me" is very nice and sparkly.

Meh, they're okay. They're a bit too soft for me. I'm more into screamo and hardcore.

Too whiney for my tastes. The only song of theirs I really like is Hear You Me. Otherwise, bleah.

I tend to prefer either wackier stuff or at least something a little more intelligent (Motion City Soundtrack for example).

My oldest really likes them, she was a little more than upset when they came here in concert last summer and her daddy and I went without her...;) She was 3 about to be 4 at the time though and I didn't think a concert that started at 10pm was a great idea.

Yep, I'm a big fan. I just wish they had more songs like Bleed American, as that is my favourite track.

They're not bad, but too mellow for my tastes. I much prefer Planes Mistaken For Stars, or Small Brown Bike, or Hot Water Music or At The Drive In... but that's just me. :)

Yeah, At The Drive In rock!
But I still hate em. I was going to see them but then they cancelled the show and split up. :(

I don't care about them either way, but I love them when they're on Sarkhaan's shirt in his Yummy Pic. :p

...never again call Alkaline Trio pop punk...

Pop punk refers to garbage like simple plan, bowling for soup, good charlotte. People who claim to be punk but instead play music for 12 year old girls. Alk3 isn't nessacarily punk but they aren't tools like the aforementioned bands either, they are their very own category

Pop punk is punk that happens to be poppy, NoFX, Bad Religion, Propagandhi, ect...

Pop music with a slight punk flavouring is just pop, or maybe 'punk-pop'? Anyways, it's certainly not pop-punk. :D

the current defintion of pop-punk in the culture of today is not NOFX, Bad Religion, or Propagandi. Would you include Rancid as well because of the ska-infusions?

Either way the bands I listed in my last post (GC, Bowling for soup, etc) are considered to be pop-punk. Good Charlotte actually tried to call themselves punk but actual punkers told them to stop it before they got beat down :p
