Okay, I'm still bored out of my mind and there's still no respectable fluff thread around and I still can't think of a good topic for one.

So, help me think.


What would be a good topic for a fluff thread you want to see made? (i.e. no politics, religion, et.al.)


I can't really offer a good poll with this - if I could come up with ten options I obviously wouldn't have had to start this thread in the first place.

Some people might actually recognize this 'bit' I guess you'd call it-

My grandma used to make wedding cakes for a living. The really elaborate kind, damned fancy.

I am the oldest of her grandchildren, which meant for a few years at least my grandma would make some pretty elaborate cakes for my birthdays. One year she made a race car, not a profile of a race car but a three dimensional race car with oreos for wheels. It looked incredible. I'd show it to you but I ate it.

And that's the thing. Even a picture of that cake wouldn't do it justice, you'd have to see it. But I ate it.

When I run into people that don't understand the phrase "You can't have your cake and eat it too" I know it's because they've never had a kick ass cake.

Some people might actually recognize this 'bit' I guess you'd call it- *recognizes* :)

I just did a remote for the Food Network, they prepare the food several times and throw away some of the stuff thats overcooked because they where trying to get angles and whatnot. I don't know about other crews but ours (all two of us) would decend on that stuff between set ups and down as much as we could. Some of that stuff was SOOOO good. Unreasonable. Watching someone make enchilada sauce from scratch is like watching someone conjur rabbits or something, there's always some point in the process that I think I miss where he goes "abracadabra" and it becomes enchilada sauce....really really really fucking good enchilada sauce.....

I really can't take credit for it. A friend (you might know him as sousrature) came up with it while kind of making fun of me. I did a "Pirate vs. Ninja" thread way back in my first month here and it spawned a giant "Vs." thread rage that lasted the rest of the day. He suggested that and I held onto it until Forum 7 revealed itself.
