White then...Nah, camouflage is meant for a specific environment. There isn't a specific "best one" out there.

Digital, or Army ACU. I where them and they are great. Surprizingly enough, you blend into every environment. Yes, you do. At further distances, you blend right in. It's an optical illusion. The pattern created confuses our eyes into thinking we're looking at the same patterns around the camo. It's quite neat really to see it tested out in the field. Especialy in woodland because you would never think that it would blend in to that sort of environment, but it does. :)

This is actually true. ACU isnt bad.

I think Crye Multicam is the best though.

Having just come back from AT, that ACU pattern stood out in every environment it was used in. The design of the uniform is nice put the pattern isn't effective.

I think the best camouflage would be something like a mech or mobile suit. Or a friggin' tank.

I mean, people will notice you, but then they'll wish they hadn't.

British DPM, because it looks snazzy.

That, with Finnish Arctic (urmm basically white) and Swedish Desert (which is better than the US and UK stuff) and you're sorted.

Plus the obligatory hot-naked-woman gear, which stuns enemy soldiers so that they are loathed to fight you whilst you gun them down (note : may lead to getting stoned in Northern Afghanistan).

Really dark blue. I spend a lot of time out at night.

I got some pants and a shirt in a dark blue from Propper for a Cobra Commander costume a few years back. We quickly learned that really dark blue stands out less than black when we were doing "night operations" (egging frat houses, borrowing street signs, shooting pop cans through presumably abandoned furniture).

My fellow Canadian, it's about time we got over that, don't you think?

In multinational military operations involving tens of thousands of troops collaborating with native rebels on the other side of the planet, occasionally, people screw up. And when people in the military screw up, someone dies. That's the nature of the business, and you can be damn sure that those four Canadians knew that when they put on thier uniforms and stepped into a war zone. They knew the risks and did it anyways - that is why they deserve the memorials and plaques and speeches. War is an ugly business, and they knew what they were getting into.

Active Camoflauge

Have fun dragging around lots of cameras and LCD screens in a warzone. I guess, once you've been shot to pieces, the enemy can take what's left of the LCD screens and watch All My Martyred Children.

Digital camo is the best, because it's proven to be much more effective than conventional patterns at concealing a soldier in thick vegetation.

Of course, all the digital camo in the world won't help you if you're wearing a forest pattern in a desert environment.

I'm not sure what "conventional" means. Are you referring to the US forces Woodland pattern? It's being phased out and replaced with digital. The Marine Corps got theirs first. The Army and Airforce should be in process of replacing it now.

As far as "best" it depends on environment. Digital seems to be the most versatile overall. Time will tell.

It depends entirely upon the environment you need to work in.

I go with the pirate uniform! AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!! AHAHAHAAHAH! YAR!

But of course after having used all of those types of camo in actual situations (which I will not tell you about becuase the US government would execute me for treason) I have found this out.

For woodland, the USMC's digital woodland works the best. For desert their desert works the best.
If you have several different Enviroments to work in, in a short period of time, The Army's ACU is best because it works relativley well with out complication.
For urban, surprisingly, the old blotched Urban works the best.
Tiger Stripes Looks the MOST BADASS! And works best in very heavily foilage.
OD green works in grass land, and looks cool, makes you look very hardass old school, but not much for breaking up your siluette.

Yes, and were you to go by Iraq/'Gulf II', the British have definetly taken the lead in the "shot by yanks" tables. Notable classics of that invasion included the US V US firefight, in which infantry fought infantry, whilst updating each other on the status of each others 'encounter'.

Do you realise that, up to a few months ago, all Canadian casualties in Afghanistan had been killed by friendly fire? It wasn't four. I don't know how many, but four was the very least of it.

well speaking as a combat vetrian the best camo is a sturdy wall . so far digital is best as it has no pattern . if you want a full wood land uniform i would suggest ACU upper and USMC , Jordanian or Canadian woodland pants . ie light for the shirt and dark for the pants .

Urmm well the Brits have been fairly high victims of American stupidity, for want of a better word.

"Whoops, let's shoot down/smash our planes into their chinooks. Because the Republican Guard and the freedom fighters use those all of the time..."
