Eight years later, we realize that things really aren't that much different than they were in 2000. They're neither significantly bad nor significantly good, and if a few conditions change things might actually be a good deal better than they were back then.

I refuse to say Bush should be impeached. I refuse to say he's an evil mastermind behind a neo-conservative conspiracy to rule the world. I simply think he's a decent guy but a President of poor judgement. I think I owe him at least that much respect.

Respect what? Someone who has fucked over the entire economy for me and my kids. The man who withdrew us from the Kyoto treaty helping to destroy the environment for billions. The man who invaded an entire country, got 2 of my friends killed and hundred of other young kids for profit. The man who has ruthlessly destroyed our civil rights and fucked America for years to come. No thanks, I will NEVER respect that. Iam American, and ashamed at our small mindedness and short sight. Seriously, why do people get into a love-hate relationship with politicians. It's like loving or hating everyone you see on the street out there. The only difference between Bush and so many people you interact with every day is he happens to have power. To me that has no bearing on whether I love or hate a person. We get along with a lot of decent people in our daily routine. But I know that if one of them were to become President, suddenly we'd find a way of loving or hating them. Makes no sense.

A little update on the Kyoto Protocol for you...NO ONE has been able to meet it yet. Even Tony Blair admitted that the world is doing a terrible job implementing the protocol. Of course, that doesn't absolve us of the need to save the environment either.

Probably because most of the people here are either from the UK or the US, so it'll be mostly about the leaders of those places? Plus, Bush is the one who started the entire Afghanistan, Iraq, and "Terror" wars, and other countries are getting dragged into them, so.... yeah. He provides a lot of material.

And, no offense meant to him, but someone like Prime Minister Harper for example, isn't quite as influential as Bush.

Incidently, it depends on the leader. Crackpots like George Bush, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Kim Jong-Il garner a lot of attention. We don't hear a lot about, say, King Harald because, well, the only person he pisses off is Fred Phelps.

management of environmental affairs has been incompeten.
