Yes, fooooooood. You know, that stuff you eat.

If you don't know what food is, I advise you to wiki it or something.

Anyway.. I have a craving for something impossible to find around here.

No, not penguin burger.

I want gyro. No, no, I don't want, I need.

In Sweden we have this thing called "Skagenröra" (mayonnaise with prawns, caviar, dill and lemon) that is my favourite "stuffing" for baguettes. Yummy for one's tummy, indeed.

On a side note, can you imagine I had a conversation with someone who didn't know what a baguette was? Seriously made my faith in the state of common knowledge in the world drop by at least ten percentage units...

I have a theory about those lumps of meat:
I have never seen one cut down to nothing and have never seen one being replaced/filled.
So my theory is that it's actually a cancerous growth that is grown in a vat somewhere and surgically attached to the skewer. The heat keeps it at a constant ideal temperature which encourages it's growth. Bits that are hacked off are replaced quickly by the unchecked growth of the cancerous tissue. The Turkish chef has to keep hacking bits off to stop it engulfing the shop.
The cancer, incidently, is also why it tastes soooooooo good. Because you know what they say - if it tastes good, it must be bad for you.

Your theory may have been revolutionary, but I had to stop reading right there. You what? Where do you live??

Here in Berlin (the world capital of Döner, if I say so myself) you can see that all the time. If you're out really late at night, chances are most spits you'll find are carved all the way down to the metal, and there are tons of delivery vans driving around town all the time delivering those big lumps of frozen döner meat to the eateries.

What's the banana for..?

You split the banana lengthwise and place it gently in a bowl made especially for the purpose. You place three scoops of ice cream, flavors of your choice along the length of the split banana, cover it with chocolate syrup, chopped nuts and whipped cream. Top the whole thing with a maraschino cherry. I don't seem to recall peanut butter, but I think it would work.

The banana is to rationalize that it's healthy, but it actually tastes wonderful in that combination.

Most but not all kebabs are spicier.

Once you put lamb/doener meat slices in a pita and roll it up with dressing and vegetable matter you can fairly call it a kebab or a gyro.

Yes, fooooooood. You know, that stuff you eat.

If you don't know what food is, I advise you to wiki it or something.

Anyway.. I have a craving for something impossible to find around here.

No, not penguin burger.

I want gyro. No, no, I don't want, I need.

Can't get a gyro in Philly? You're not looking. You can get a gyro just about anywhere in the US these days. You just hafta know where to look.

gyro places are all over downtown philly like herpes. should be no problem whatsoever. ruffy is just lazy.

You want Rana's Middile Eastern Cuisine (3513 Lancaster Ave.), and they deliver. You can call them or place an order on foodler.com. I'd go with the lamb gyro platter myself.

i know that place. dont think ive ever eaten there though. im going back to philly soon maybe ill take a visit.

I'm near Philly, not in Philly. :(

I know where to get good in Philly.

Want chinese? Walk a few blocks back from the arch in China Town.

Want gyro? Hell, just go to the Reading Terminal Market!
.. that's actually true with any kind of food they sell in Philly though..

I could tell you the locations of atleast two Starbucks', the best place to buy chocolate, best place to buy chocolate covered pretrzles, and the location of my two favorite stores in Philly.

Am I rambling?
