France to win 2 - 1. Portugal have spirit and passion but are lacking in talent where it counts (Don't start me off on CR OK).

I'm thinking 1-0 to France.

France of course I've bet allot of money (£1.10!)that there going to win this match and as the previous matches have shown every time I have bet on France they have won (never mind the fact that Portugal won’t beat a team like France unless there is some sort of tactical error combined with a very suspicious foul)

plus I've got some fine Napoleon brandy that needs drinking so they can't lose in my eyes

Honestly? I would kill for France or Portugal to win this WC. Moreso France. Portugal's a bit dodgy, but at least they didn't dive their way to the final.

I hope the best team today wins. I happen to think that this will be France, but if Portugal are better then good for them.

I think France have the cutting edge in the attack, two good teams that have disgraced the cup with some shameful play acting. I think France will do win 2-1

Not even a minute in and France attempts a shot.

So far it looks like France are going to struggle to keep Portugal at bay all night. Their defence is patchy at best, especially Abidal at left back. They need the old "we're going to score one more than you" mentality to win this game.

Hardly surprising Portugal didn't do much - they've only scored one goal since the group stage, and they didn't manage to score against the ten men of England in an hour.

Italy probably will win the final, but I don't expect it to be a classic.

Wasn't a dive. He got clipped, he went down. It was a foul. Outside the box it would have been a free- kick. Inside the box, ANY FOUL is a penalty.

I'll go with that, the referees have finally figured out that Portugal have a policy of falling over due the breeze caused by nearby opponents. With their game-plan blown they seem to have little else. Pity the referee forgot the rule about booking players for blatant diving, still if he'd remembered it I'm not sure there would have been enough players left to start the game against Germany.

As for France it depends on how inspirational a few players are. I doubt if the final will be a free-scoring affair so a moment of individual brilliance could decide it either way. I say Italy because:
a. They deserve it for the way the played the last game
b. The local Italian restaraunt owner is a really top bloke (and yes he's Italian)

I thought Portugal played a great game. France has an extraordinary team though.

Hnery did not dive, he showed some skill and was fouled but he did go down easily. Henry is not a player that dives for Arsenal, that is more Pires or A.Cole role. Nice to see Barthez still playing at this level, still a very good shot stopper but he will give me a heart attack someday.

Portugal resorted to long balls and diving in the end, didn't force Barthez to make too many saves that really made him work. France where the better side, just

Well, I was out in the streets last night running around and shouting and waving a large French flag. :D There were people everywhere, honking car cars and waving flags and grinning and just basically enjoying the moment. Great atmosphere.

The final will be difficult for both teams, and I expect it to be close. Both are very good. Italy have Buffon, who's going to make life very hard for us, but Les Bleus have really woken up and are a truly excellent team once more.
