Waking up with a different accent - which one would you want?

This is a rather sad story about a Geordie woman who suffered a stroke and when she recovered she had a foreign accent.

Stroke gives woman foreign accent. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/tyne/5144300.stm)

Now the question is, what accent would you like to have, if you could change your speech. Would you stay with the accent you have, or would you prefer to sound different.

Me - I have an RP (Surrey) English accent, but I would love to have a lowland Scots accent.

I am fine with the way I sound now.

My voice is fairly deep, so I’d definitely want a Scottish accent. The closer to Connery, the better.

I don't know. I've always felt that my NorCal hybrid accent made me sound goofy (somewhere between a beatnick and a surfer) but I don't know if I'd want another one. It's kind of part of who I am. I guess it'd be cool to sound like James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman or even Garrison Kieller. Maybe Werner Herzog. I guess I'm cool with what I got, even if it takes some people a little bit to take me seiously...

I would very much like my Oxford English accent to be my natural voice. Currently, I either have to put a bit of effort into talking that way or be partially drunk.

I'd like a strong jamaican accent and sound ridiculous when I try to mimic the USAmerican accent.

I would definatly want a Russian accent. Then I can tell "In Soviet Russia" jokes all day long.:)

I'd be pretty fine with most accents as long as it wasn't Texan, Alabaman, or English that I woke up with.

I don't have an identifiable accent, really.. I guess I'd rather have my proud-if-obnoxious Chicago accent back, or just transition to my mild California accent fully, rather than be stuck in the middle.

For fun, I would enjoy a thick Greek accent, so I could spout insults and racist epithets and people would think I was just being colorful. :)

Scandinavian would be fine. There really aren't many accents I don't like, except I'm not too crazy on the Southern accent.

Whichever accent currently drives the bookish-but-hot, mousy-but-sexually-competent, brunette, eyeglass-wearing geek princesses wild. *sigh* I do have my type, I confess.

American south, English, or Austrailian. My Indiana accent is just non-descript enough to throw people who want to know where I'm from.

I don't really care that much about my English accent, but my Swedish accent... hmm... I don't really care about that one either.

My favorite accents are

Scottish - like Pippin in Lord of the Rings
Swiss German - somehow I feel like I'd sound more authoritative :p
Italian - "Yah can act like a man! *slap* What's a matter you??"

Instead I'm stuck with some kind of semi-New York/Rockland County accent.

I'm going to start an institute to surgically remove Welsh accents. Want to try the prototype surgery?

So what if I have no surgical/medical qualifications?

Minnesotan. Not a fancy pants Minneappolis/Saint Paul Minnesotan accent either.
I want the accent of a Minnesota farmer who only sometimes considers the possibility of visiting Minneapolis but never actually does it because he has seen the news from there and cant quite trust the place completely.

I'm okay with my accent in German (mainly because I pretty much got rid of it).

As for other languages, hmm... as a woman, I should probably wish for a French accent, they're really awfully cute when they speak German (not English so much, IMHO).

And I love it when the Dutch speak German - very cute, too.

Oh, and I really like to hear the Irish speak English. More on a guy, though. Very sexy. :p

Oh, and while the Australian accent can be a bit funny, it depends totally on who's speaking, so that can be very sexy, too. ;)

there is a woman at my church from Nigeria, I really like the way she talks, it's soo cool.

but I would probably keep what I got, an Oklahoma accent is so unique that when I go other places people say "where are you from? your accent is so neat" and I like the attention.
