IDF Captures Murderers of Eliyahu Asheri in Ramallah

By Hillel Fendel

In a midnight operation, the IDF surrounded a police station in Ramallah and threatened to destroy it - unless the terrorists inside gave themselves up. After a few hours, they did.

The three Arabs who were thus caught - the murderers of 18-year-old Eliyahu Asheri last week - are: Bassam Artiya, 34, from the Omeri slums near Ramallah; Hamsa Taktouk, 22, of Ramallah; and Ayham Kamamji, 20, also of Ramallah. The three are members of the Al-Aksa Brigades of Fatah, and served in the Palestinian Authority's security services.

The General Security Service, which permitted the publications of their names several hours after they were apprehended, announced that Taktouk had attempted to carry out a suicide bombing three months ago, and that Artiya had been instrumental in the smuggling of weapons from Gaza to Judea/Samaria.

The three apparently abducted Eliyahu Asheri, a resident of Itamar, as he waited for a ride outside Ofrah, north of Jerusalem, on Sunday night, June 25. He was abducted only hours after the murderous attack in which two soldiers were killed and one was kidnapped in Kerem Shalom. Asheri was taken to Ramallah and murdered with a gunshot to his head shortly afterwards.

Even as late as Wednesday, the terrorists were implying that he was still alive - but IDF forces found his body that night. Thousands of people attended his Jerusalem funeral the next day; he was buried on the Mt. of Olives.

it is distressing to me that our lives are being dictated by the actions of insane palistinians, and vengefull israilis...

because this interfaces with the whole midlle eastern mindset...so if the jews go mental(as is their right) the u.s will be a jew pawn and hated, and if the americans ask for restraint...we will also be bad because we are not supporting the jews.

what a fucking nightmare...gotta love religion..lol

Tell me, are you familiar with the term disproportionate response? If a guy looks at me dirty, can I blow his face away with a magnum? That's disproportionate response.

And that's what Israel is doing.

Both the Palestinians and Israeli's are making a huge mess of things. Getting involved in either side at this point of time is just picking one mud slinger over the other.

no,i was not saying that..i was simply pointing out it has no effect on my life, other then geopolitics, and the retribution that every victim of crime needs.

i was actually exspecting to be chastised for calling the palistinians insane...which i believe they are.

and my point was,i am sick of getting dragged into every hatfield and macoy fight, and forced to choose sides..they are all crazy if you ask me.

i lean towards israel as i am part jew,and i think they show incredible restraint...but please..enough is fucking enough allready.

i just dont want my life affected by it anymore,an intractable problem, that aint my problem, that will go on forever.

all i want to do is feed my kid...i pray my kid comes home safe...where he should be...playing doctor with girls, not learning the art of war..i did that so he would not have too.

i am sorry if offend anyone..but i am an isolationist...fuck the world, aint my problem,my problem shows up every day in my mailbox, not anyone a half a world away.

Nope, and far from it.

2 israelis are kidnapped. One a civilian, and one a soldier. They launch a huge invasion over the soldier, although it's too late for the citizen, because he is murdered.

It's FAR different from your hypothetical. Someone giving you a dirty look doesn't parrallel murder and kidnapping.

DM, you're being emotive again. I see no-one else here getting angry yet. Read the post immediately above yours. Consider that perhaps compassion and sadness are a better starting point for emotive issues than your ... well, anger. Read that post. Please.

Good. I'm glad they caught the murderers. To bad they won't be executed as they deserve.

And 2 instances of kidnapping and 1 instance of murder justifies a full scale invasion, the arrest and detainment of lawfully elected officials and an even greater level of bloodshed? My example fits just fine.

The last time someone (Non Israeli) went to war over a kidnapping was the incident regarding Helen of Troy, and these people don't have a face that would be worth launching a thousand ships, much less one.

A criminal incident does not warrant an invasion. If you think that's the case, you're a loon. A trigger happy loon.

But then again, you thought that US army rangers could take down all of NK's artillery before they flattened Seoul too. I get this feeling you're an armchair general, quite happy to paint a rosy picture of the costs of a war.

The same kind of people who believed that taking Iraq and keeping it would have been a cakewalk.

Isreal was INVADED and soldiers were kidnapped and killed ..attacked by rockets fired from palestinian territory..all by the ARMED MILITARY WING OF HAMAS..the current government elected for and by the Palestinians.

So by what feeble stretch of the imagination can the Israelis be faulted for not CRUSHING Hammas like a roach ?

They left the west bank and Gaza with the proviso that the Palistinian government would insure the security of Israel and work to protect the State Of Israel from terorist attacks .

So now the Terrorist are the government of Palestine . Hamas ...

And somehow any of this is Israels fault ?:D :D

Why not be a little more honest and just say you " hate " Israel and everything it stands for and love the poor Palestinians who like blowing up civilians and buses and themselves because theey cant stand up and fight ..
At least then you will be intelectually honest with yourself .

Israel has the RIGHT to curbstomp Hamas with ever weapon in its arsenal ..
The dumb ass morons GAVE it to them . Anf they gave it on a silver platter .
They said " please come now and kick my ass four ways from Sunday"
We dont know how to do this PEACE stuff ..and government is boring .

A smash and snatch is NOT an invasion. Go back to school and learn your English please.

Your use of a negative in the sentence does not make logical sense in the context of your post.

You do realize that during the formation of the Israeli government, a large section of it's body was composed of a terror organization? This particular argument holds no weight in moral relativity.

No, why don't YOU be more honest and say "I'm a neo-con right winger who will give a free pass to Israel if they decided to build death camps and gas all the Palestinians." Also, you could also say "I'm a pathetic arguer because I'll use lots of straw men and unsubstantiated arguments to make the other side look like they don't have an argument."

I don't approve of EITHER side. If it were really up to me, there would be a great big wall around both Palestine and Israel with nothing allowed in or out. Eventually, they'd resolve their differences or kill themselves off.

But no, you can't imagine it. In your worldview, you are either with the Israeli's or with the Palestinians. I'm not with either side. I can see injustice being committed by BOTH sides. And I'm sick of the both of them.

The only appropriate response to Palestinian terrorism is a "disproportionate" response.

Props to the IDF.

US, what was the IDF soldier doing when he was captured? the crossword? catching some rays? or firing live artillery into the most densly populated area on the planet? he was engaged in an act of war and got outflanked. life goes on.

you do not launch a full scale invasion to rescue a soldier lifted while attacking a civilian area and expect to be seen as 'the victim'. change the record.
