Which is easier?

Which do you think would be easier to do: getting a hole-in-one in golf, or getting a perfect 300 game in bowling?

hole i one

I'd go with the bowling one. When a bowling ball hits the pins, there are an infinite number of specific series of movements which can result in a strike. With golf, there're a lot of environmental variables such as wind, grass condition, and so forth, that are out of the player's control.

hole in one because you have 18 chances to get it :P..

for a perfect game you can't screw up once ^^

The number of chances is irrellevant. You could bowl an infinite number of games or play an infinite number of rounds of golf.

I must agree. Bowling is far easier for the player to control than golf. Not to mention a damned sight more fun.

Well, the fun was implied. :P

you know what... my friend got a hole in one once.. but i have never seen someone bowl a perfect game... cept on the simpsons.. but that is besides the point

And you know it wasn't specified.. i inferred that on game of both.. so :P

Nothing can be assumed. Only stated facts should be included in making the decision.

Depends.
I'd say a hole in one on a par three is easier than a perfect game of bowling, but for a par four or five, my money's on 300.

then how can you infer an infinate amount of games..
say one hole and golf and one game of bowling
That is the information given

If we're going one hole of golf vs 1 game of bowling, I'm even more definately going for bowling, because of the environmental variables involved in golf.

depends were youre golfing, and I like bowling better

but I chose hole in one because you get 18 chances, wether in bowling you have to get it perfect

Yes but in something like this can there not bew only one variable?.... Meaning the conditions while golfing the Hole and the conditions while bowling must be identical in every aspect.

That would require the golf hole to be indoors, which would effect the condition of the grass and the flight of the ball.

yes but that would make both equally difficult.. it was not specified an outdoor game of golf and both would be equally as likely.

If I was looking at the best players of each sport Id say a perfect game bowling was much easier.

If I was looking at mere mortals playing for fun Id say the hole in one was much easier.

Also a hole in one is pretty easy in miniature golf:p

Okay, to clear up confusion, we'll say the golfing conditions are perfect. No wind, dry grass, everything. Which is more likely for you to achieve? A hole-in-one on a par 3, or a perfect game in bowling?

I'd say they're both as unlikely for a person like me. My disorder makes it impossible for me to be coordinated enough to consistently do well in bowling (some flukes permitted), and my lack of upper arm strength makes it impossible for me to hit a golf ball more than about ten feet.

I suck at golf but I actually did the 300 once.

Let's say that bowling a strike has a probability of x. Hitting a hole-in-one has a probability of 10x, because it's ten times as hard. You have to bowl that same strike twelve times. Of course that 10x is pretty much a WAG, but you get the idea.

Probably the best way is to check the odds at a casino.

for me personally the 300 is easier, or would be, I got a 297 once (stupid 10th frame nervousness) but the best I ever got in golf was a bogey on a par 3......

I can assure you no it is not (and I have the windmill dents in my club along with a lifetime ban to prove it)

Hugs TC for her bravery bringing this up (but not in a lecherous way).

Golf. You've only got to hit one perfect shot to get a hole in one, while you've got to bowl numerous perfect balls to get the 300.

Not the windmill hole! NOBODY gets a hole in one there!

I did once. But that's not real golf.

Golfing on a par 3 is like going to a duckpin lane for bowling: it's close, but it's just not the same game.

I believe that the bowling a perfect game is easier:
1) You're always going down the same lane all game. With golf, each hole is different and must be played differently... and on each course!
2) No environmental factors (sun/wind/gophers/etc).
3) You can always use the same ball if you wish. With golf, you're changing clubs constantly all game.

Are either easy? No! But the hole in one is harder, IMO.
