What interests me is that some places are being kept open to, "cause as few inconvieniences as possible". I don't know whats worse, having a government that can't stop bickering and balance the books or a populace that won't notice until they can't gamble.

I hope that it stays shut down for a month and then they will find out that we don't need most of what they do. We have way to many government workers in this state.

Well, after most of the day, I can say that everything is the same here. We still have the turnpike, we're still the best way to get to New York if you're coming from the south, we're still haunted, and we're still sorry for Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston, Queen Latifa, The Sugarhill Gang, 4/5ths of My Chemical Romance, Garden State, Jersey Girls, Tom Cruise's highschool years, School of Rock, and that funny smell that our oil refineries produce. We just can't gamble now, is all. But rest assured, there are still plenty of reasons to visit New Jersey. There's um... well... we've got a haunted tree (http://weirdnj.com/stories/_night06.asp)!

Hey, I remember being lost in Grover's Mill at night in a rainstorm, and those stupid signs with little arrows that indicated the way back to the Turnpike.

Oddly, when I followed the signs, I kept going in circles inside Grover's Mill.

It's likely that the strange method of signage in New Jersey is responsible for that little incident with aliense. They were trying to get home, but couldn't find their way back because of the damned signs.

No, the signs were Plan B. We were hoping they would get confused and give up. Or show those New Yorkers what's for. :D

I thought that Harold and Kumar would have been more realistic if they had been thoroughly bamboozled by the signage and those crazy "no left turn" thingies.

"but the damn GPS says turn left here, how in the hell do we turn left?"

Noone seems to pay attention to the most important thing about that article

That they ORDERED certain people to continue work WITHOUT PAY!

The United States is a Corperate Police State, and getting worse every day.

I will begin my protests tomorrow.

Listen. This is New Jersey. We're not the United States. We're barely part of the United States. To most people we're "that highway that leads to New York." If you read it, it says prolonged closing could lead to people working without pay. It's in the first fucking paragraph.

By the way, it's two words, not one. "No one."

Everyone. We're the center of the universe. Every event can in some way or another be traced to New Jersey. On the other hand, nobody cares about the New Jersey budget.

I didn't know you had any Republicans in office in New Jersey - it can't be too Republican if you can't have an assault rifle.

Because the point of having one is?

My grandpa, uncle, and dad own at least one, it's not like we have door to door searches.

I heard they were going to close parks and public beaches. Doesn't it cost more to close and patrol those areas than it would to just keep them open?

Go to Camden, I am sure they wont mind. Its the only place you'll need one anyway.

And for all the people that hink Jersey is so bad, heres a tidbit of info. NJ has the highest population density out of all the states. It cant be THAT bad if so many people live here.

Newark seems to be more violent than Camden, although I could be wrong.
