Also read the article on Game Informer. If everything goes right this is going to be a sweet, sweet Next Generation platform epic with all the tasty morsels from Thief and Prince of Persia blended together in a historical setting.

Not to mention it'll probably be fucking controversial since the game's star is a Persian Assassin trying to stop a war by killing select targets. Wow, a game where the Muslim is the good guy instead of the towel-headed bearded "Dirka Dirka Jihad" terrorist thug. I'll laugh when Real Americans™ call for the game to be pulled off shelves.

Amen! Now if it'd hurry up and get here...

For those who don't know (or are too lazy to look it up), Assassin's Creed is an "open-ended" game (meaning that unlike GTA, when you're on mission you're steered to a short point on where you can go, but otherwise you're on your own) that's based around just what it sounds: assassinating certain individuals. Based in the 11-12th century (can't remember which one) in the Middle East, your character must not only knock off these certain targets, but also manage the crowd that surrounds them. It's pretty damn good stuff so far, and considering their track record, it will only get better. Now if it were only announced for the PC...

Anyway, there's a few other juicy-looking games that will most definitely make the PS3 worth the steep price tag, like MGS4 (Snake! Nooooooooooooooooooo!), Devil May Cry 4 (seems to be time for #4), and most definitely for many (I'm a bit more lax about it than some) the remake of FF7. This race will be most interesting indeed...
