Why not? I'm pretty sure they'd be allowed. Not every nation is democratic anyway, so communist symbols will do.

The ruling is that the hammer and sycle is allowable, but the swastika is not. That includes(unfortunately IMHO) the use of the swastika as Hindu/Buddhist symbology. As I understand it, that ruling comes from the site's owner himself.
Undoubtedly there will be people who say 'but the commies killed people too!!11,' but trust me, no one cares. Hammer and Sycle = okay, Swastika = off limits.

I think that's what I read a couple of weeks ago. New user here, so I've been trying to read the rules and make sure I understand what's allowed and not. But I'm not interested in using the hammer and sickle myself so I don't remember 100% if it's allowed or not.
