Well, here we go again. Back by popular demand, its the 'post your voice thread'. The original was by Fass, and Smunkeeville redid it a few months back (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=473500).

As that grew into a behemoth, it's probably better if we start again here. So, same format as before. To start with, read Article One of the Declaration of Human Rights (found here) (http://www.unhchr.ch/udhr/navigate/alpha.htm).

If you speak more than one language please post which is your native language, and please if you do speak english post at least one reading in English.

Oh, and please post where you are from (where you lived when you learned to talk) you can be pretty generic (like America- Midwest) but not too Generic (North American Continent)

Article 1.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Recording: On Windows, go Start/programs/accessories/entertainment/sound recorder - it's basic but it works.
Or try Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/), a better sound recorder but you gotta export files into the correct format before uploading (it tells you what to do)
Hosting: Putfile (http://www.putfile.com/)seems to work fairly well. Might skip a bit first time round, but give it time.
Alternatives: http://www.ourmedia.org/
http://ul3.rapidshare.de/

Credit to Smunkee for some of the text here, I just c&p'd the bit about language and location.

Okay, to start the ball rolling, here's me!

But to keep from spamming this brand new thread, I've decided that it's not tacky, so here goes:

- Article 1 in German (http://www.gimehost.com/p233Y19lK7FbtAU2PguF)
- Article 1 in English (http://www.gimehost.com/N7APj7K9YKdzS08RrBsb)

And my favourite from the other ones I did, because my voice actually sounds like it does in RL, for a change (well, I'm laughing through large parts of it, so it's not *really* my normal speaking voice, but anyway). It's part German, part English.

Apathy, and the lack of recording apparatus, mean I can only direct you to the old thread for my voice. Only one thing to add really; it's either the pollen that I didn't think I was allergic to or an incredibly extended, very mild summer cold, but my voice has deepened since the last recording. I'll possibly re-record once it returns to normal.

I direct you all to the soothing sound of my voice (http://www.fileden.com/files/26565/Constitution.mp3).

I grew up in Nova Scotia, Eastern Canada, but I do not have the brogue typically associated with my ancestral home. I think my accent is typically central/Eastern Canadian.

I must disappoint, as I am not any place near a computer I can equip with a microphone at the moment. In fact, I am posting from someone else's laptop as he's sleeping next to me, so it would be quite the rude thing to do. I trust you understand.

Don't fret, though, over the iniquity of the situation (hah!), as I, too, have been aurally deprived. SoWiBi's comp ist kaputt, and so is her skypitude. Woe is me.

It's the bestiest sexiest song you could sing...well for me anyway...

It's that breathy, beautiful bordering on raspy, song thats sung by world weary singers in smoke filled rooms with maybe just a piano or nothing at all, the kind that Marlene Dietrich or Edith Piaf would do.

I think the song was poorly written from a musical standpoint ;) however it's kinda a tradition around here and someone's gotta sing it on the 4th, might as well be me. haha

As far as singing better than I speak, it's probably from singing lessons and radio classes where I was taught to strip out my accent. My sample of speaking has my bad Okie accent. ;)

So my old sample isn't good enough for you anymore? You need younger samples now?
Fine then. *storms off in a huff* :p

Ok, as I have promised Cannot think of a name, here's a tango. It's called "Uno" ("One") and originally it's beautiful, but I don't seem to do ANY justice to it.

I'd record a tidier version, but I must get ready for a party, so no time!

(and yes, I have a generic computer mic $3 worth, and no music behind... zero sophistication) :(
