WC: Which loss was more devastating?

Argentina's loss to Germany, or Australia's loss to Italy?

On one hand, Australia's loss came from a dubious penalty; had that not been given, it would have gone to extra time and the Aussies would have had a chance.

On the other, Argentina looked set to win, holding the lead from 49' to 80', when Germany got a late equaliser and eventually won on penalties. It wasn't unfair, but it would be painful, know that victory was so close.

I think, for the Argentinians it was worse because they were so confident and were the favourites.

The Aussies loss. That was a tough way to go out.

Amen to that brother.

Plus the bad-tempered sods started slapping the Germans about after the match. Not on.

Aussies. Losing on a blatant dive like that has to hurt.

The Argentines simply lost the game. I didn't even favour them going in.

Don't you think it's kinda impressive Maradona managed to get his hand higher than the goalie? He isn't very tall.

Yeah, some Argentine replacement kicked a German player really hard in the leg, just out of frustration apparently, he went down and all hell broke loose while half the German team was a few meters over celebrating. Our team manager got into it to keep his guys from getting banned for the next game or anything so the Argentines went off on him. Pretty bad sight, one big cluster of guys starting to slug each other in the middle of the pitch. Sheesh.

What losers...they should just get used to the fact that it is, and always will be, Deutschland uber Alles. ^^

Reminds me of some people from Ghana, pinning the blame for their loss on the "racist" referee. Grow up.

Australia. The referee decided the game. Not the players.
