My word, I'm serious about this.

If you're not familiar with Pandora.com, get over there and appreciate the vibe.

And apologies to all who know of this.

known about it for a while, but it really is awesome guys.......it has greatly increased my CD want list though, finding new bands that I never heard of, yet actually like, it's great at figuring out my tastes, even better than I am.

By chance, I met one of the guys behind Pandora a couple of weeks ago. He seemed pretty genuinely motivated by the idea behind it all. Unfortunately, it's really only a US-based service at the moment.

www.rateyourmusic.com is also good for finding out about bands that fit your genre preferences. My account on there is "Ceeker" if anyone wants to have a look.

Evidently, if you told it you liked music that it thinks is similar to Radiohead, the only reason you dislike them is because they're Radiohead. You fail. Go listen to OK Computer or I'll eat your brains.

Not necessarily. If you leave it for long enough (20 songs or so) you frequently get stuff you don't like. Well, I do. I ask it not to play songs again fairly often.

By chance, I met one of the guys behind Pandora a couple of weeks ago. He seemed pretty genuinely motivated by the idea behind it all. Unfortunately, it's really only a US-based service at the moment. And they probably won't be allowed to expand beyond that. But yea, they're a nice enough lot. Been emailing a bit with them.

It's just annoying how they're forced to offer shite they already know people don't want to hear.

Quite. Case in point: they've just played Radiohead at me again. Bastards!

I wish they knew the World Saxophone Quartet. It's cool, though.

Quite. Case in point: they've just played Radiohead at me again. Bastards! They don't do it to annoy though. It's a package deal thing. They promote a broad spectrum of popular music, whether you want it or not. That's why they're permitted to play the music you do want.

It's commercials, of a sort. Just don't come with tits & frosty-looking beer.

Using the same repetitive pattern in the guitar. You'll hear it a lot in Alt Rock and it's progenitors. The best example that comes to mind is the guitar riff in "Guerilla Radio" by RATM.

They don't have the Vienna Art Orchestra either. Wierd.

Ah well, so long as I can skip the stuff I hate, it's got most forms of advertising beat.

i mean, it's ok, i'm sure dennis lyxzen wouldn't have any objections. it's just that old rpp on here has a sort of cult following.
