My dog ran away :(

One of my dogs ran away last night. It was my Mother's dog, Annie, who was given to her as a Christmas present in 96. I remember chasing that pup all over trying to catch her...

Man I'm bummed :( Gate was left open and something lured her out-she NEVER leave the property. One thing though she goes after are diesel engines, because she always assumes Diesel engine noise=Me= Car ride+ Slobber all over DMs leather interior+ Wind in face.

That sucks...give it a few days. Maybe the person just ran by with a diesal engine and found the dog chasing the car and could return it...

Oh no, you poor thing! I'd be a wreck if any of our dogs were missing...did you have her microchipped or anything?

Annie is the Red one.

Duke is the black/brown guy.

If you have her tagged you'll probably see her again. Otherwise it might be hard for the person who finds her to bring her back. But I hope she comes back, man.

Both my dogs come running to the fence when they hear a diesel engine. I'm the only one who takes them for rides, as my parents hate having dogs in the car because Dogs=nasty mess in car (fur, slobber, etc).

Close up of Annie showing off her color...very pretty pup.

Hmm. Probably best to just assume the dog is dead or will be soon. Easier to have closure that way.

We don't. She is very good at losing her collar, and at 15$ bucks a pop for German Pinscher collars (They end up getting chewed and spit out of the tractor mower at somewhere near mach 3, very dangerous) we just took them off.

Sure! I had my Richie microchipped last year. It's really great, all the shelters have scanners now, and it gets pets back to their owners so much more reliably than just a tag on a collar, which can come off.

Me too. Homeless house pets is a sad thing. Possibly more so than homeless children, what with humans having original sin and all.

I worked at a vet clinic last summer. I hated michochipping, mainly because of the very large needle they stuck in the dog. I'm not talking a needle, more like a backhoe.

Yeah, it IS pretty huge. I couldn't watch it, I was crying like crazy. But I'm glad that in the remote off-chance Richie is missing, he'll be microchipped.

Don't get me started on people who dump their pets. I LOVE animals-dogs, cats, fish, birds.....I worked at a vet clinic last summer. BEST JOB EVER! I got paid 7.50/hr to sit around all day and play with cats and dogs. :p I've got some pics from then I'll put up one of these days.

Think Microchipping needle/tubes are big? Check out some of the horse/cow things. MASSIVE! Once a cow came in with a calf (On a trailer with owner, duh!) that had her uterus hanging out  . She later died from blood loss....I had to get her out of the trough with a backhoe and onto the trailer. She was turned into dog food.

I want to do that one day...maybe if I end up not having kids, or when I'm retired. I wish I could actually make a living from it. Of course, I couldn't actually be around when there are sad things happening, like a dog is sick and dies or has to get a shot. That's why I can't actually make a living at it. All I can do it sit around and play with the animals.

Or when there was a really abused animal, there was a wolf that I've met that was beaten with a 2x4 and kept on an 8" chain, and his ears where actually partially eaten by flies, but then he made a full recovery. Stuff like that is what keeps me away from the veterinary proffesion, and having to neuter animals.

I opened up the garage to go out to my car and she walked right in as if to say "Did ya miss me?" and began munching on some cat food I had laid out for our barn cat, Jasper. . Safe, unharmed, and apparently she went waltzing through a septic tank puddle

I'll give her a bath tommorow, she STINKS!

But I gave her a big hug anyways. I love my dog! :fluffle:

This sounds like the time Kyronea ran over his girlfriends dog, and explained that as an atheist he believes very highly in the sanctity of life because once it's over, it's over.

I hope your dog comes home, we're praying for you.
