This is very odd.
Okay, so I'm trying to install a game on my computer(EverQuest: Titanium if you must know) and it keeps giving me the following error message:
"Setup has encountered an error:
Please do the following:
-Close any running programs.
-Empty your temporary folder.
-Check your Internet connection.
Then try to run the setup again.
Error Code:-6001"
I have done all of that. My internet connection is obviously fine, since I'm able to post here. My temporary folder has been emptied.
I did suspect, at first, that it was my firewall, as I run Sygate Personal Firewall. Various attempts with alternate settings, including just shutting it off, have resulted in failure. Similar attempts with Spyware Blaster, Antivir Antivirus Guard, AND Spybot Search& Destroy have also failed, so they're not interfering, especially since I've never had this kind of problem with installing a program WHILE any of them were on anyway.
It's not the disc. I tested it on my mom's computer and it worked perfectly the first time, on a computer that is far less secure than mine, even. So what could the problem be?
