Artists of NS ... what's new?

Any new pieces of art around these days? I've just finished a piece, acryl colour on canvas with a little silver wire sculpture, have a look if you want:

Very neat. Alas, I've no time to create anything just now (nor the motivation to), and none of my older works are online.

Ooo, I like!
:fluffle:

Kinda art related... have school art exhibition on Thursday where some work of mine shall be up *nods*

Hopefully it'll be the work I did with sunsets, all modified on the computer, little abstract squares of the pictures with different effects, all linked together with pastels or chalks and things.

Or, it might be another bit of work which includes this really cool layered bit of work with holes in the paper that have blue oil pastel underneath, and has stitch and various medias in response to this image of a hugely magnified bone. (It really looks like lakes and mountains - strange how and image of something so small can look like image of something huge.) Will link to the picture I worked off in a second...

EDIT:
Here we go:

Also did interpretations of this (with chalk and paint):

That is a pretty damn fine picture, Cabra. Good work.

Doing some Graphic Design I had to be able to draw moderately. My site is here:

However, most of my pictures aren't up on it - yet.

Well, I find it pretty amazing. It's a way of painting I was going to attempt sometime in the near future, as I wanted to do a portrait of someone basically only showing the shadows...

A great deal of my work is stylised, because I like bold colours/pattern. I'll see if I can dig out some of my other stuff.

Mmmh you're cute and that painting is quite cool too ^^

Reminds me of this picture (http://irc-galleria.net/view.php?nick=Emie&image_id=34515400) of myself.

I was listening to some goood music, sitting on a roof, with the world under me.

And that painting somehow represents the moment and feeling I felt there.

Thank you for being such a great artist.. Bringing back sweet memories!

Wow, I love all the new stuff!

Jenrak - wow, I didn't even know you did graphic desgin, did you ever post it here before? I especially like this (http://www.freewebs.com/sleekportfolio/GalleryImage3.jpg) one.

And the dragon fly looks awesome, Cabra - I loooove the eyes. How did you get the wire curled up so cleanly/regularly?? I used to make jewelry sometimes and that was always the hardest to do, ugh. >.<

Oh, and The Mindset - quirky idea, beautiful picture, and music by Cake! Color me happy. :)

Man, now I wish I'd be all creative and stuff, too.

Maybe I should dig out the photography thread again - would that count as grave digging? Or maybe PM wants to start a new one? PM?

Acutally... it wasn't hard at all. The first two circles were a bit tricky because the pincers I had were really to big for that kind of work. So I lost two fingernails in the process. :(
Do you have some pics of the jewellery? I used to make some myself, but I would only do beads on elastic string. I hate those little tiny locks on necklaces that you can't ever close. Or open again.

i don't think it would count as gravedigging... its a very specific thread and a contributive one so i should guess the mods would be fine with it (maybe better that than have two hanging around), but its up to you :) i'll be off to bed in a minute anyhow so i leave it with you *nods*

Hmm, I'm impressed. I wouldn't have thought you could get the circles so smooth with pincers. But maybe the Pincer God was mollified by the the nail sacrifice. ;p
Nah, I don't have any pics. And yeah, I never started with the "real" hardware either. I remember the curling thing from a ring I did, but yeah, the wire was really thin and too easily deformed, so maybe that's what made it so tricky.

Hmm, I'll think about it. It'd be somewhat stupid, seeing how I myself don't even have any new pictures to put on, but I always love to see other people's stuff, so maybe I still should.

I haven't finished anything new, but I'm in the middle of some fun projects: Phase two of an interactive collaborative project with another artist is getting installed for a show in July. Another artist and I are curating a group show of new works based on a collection of paper masks. And I'm working on a series of surrealist dollhouses.

And it is...For now.

Soon I will wipe my arse on it and hang it upside down. The action of arse wiping is the actual piece and the painting becomes an installation, a memory of a performance.
If you absolutely must see what I have in mind, then turn your computer screen upside down, put just a hint of peanut butter on your finger and paint a little skidmark through the middle of it.

Thank you, I made that in 3ds max 5, though I use 8 now. Its an arisaka type... 99, if I remember. Made it as a gift for a half life 2 mod, who decided to make their own in the end... meh, I liked mine more.

The grenade was actually about 3 minutes of work, just trying a method I came up with myself... I didn't do the skin, I gave it to someone else who was learning skinning, and just happened to have the nearly finished render on my photobucket account. Meh.

I havn't done anything that great recently... I really should get back into modeling more.

Interestingly the above Tank started out as the image done below

based on WH40K's predator, but I made modifications after being informed by the NS Draftroom members.
