Last 1/8 day!
This time is the Penta vs. The Pride of Africa!
Who will win? The survivor of this fight will face the winner of the Spain-France match.
Time to play!

Of course, the smart money is on Brazil, but a Ghana win is not out of the question if they play inspired (like they did against Czech Rep.) and Brazil comes out a little flat (like they did against Croatia).

Although Brazil will probably win, Ghana is a strong team. I'd like to see them giving the Seleçao lots of trouble. :D

As much as I would love to see Ghana win against Brazil, I doubt it will happen. I call for a 2-0 Brazil win. My predictions will be that Roberto Carlos and Kaka will score for the Brazilians. I hope Ghana wins. Anyways, Forza Italia!

Ghana will cause Brazil problems. Ronaldo will not be able to rumble through the defence as the Ghanaians are too strong. Robinho is out with a muscle injury so it will be down to the Brazilian midfield and Adriano to score. (If Parreira would drop Ronaldo for Fred, then Brazil will do better, but he won't). If Ghana can avoid giving away free kicks in dangerous areas I can see an upset happening, but I don't think they will be able to avoid this.
Brazil by 2 with the goals coming from set pieces.
I'm rooting for Ghana, by thirty goals.

I definatly cheer for Ghana. It's fun to see an african team that is actually good and it's also nice to see a new team succeeding instead of the old usual ones.

Ghana may be the biggest diamond in the ruff here, heck they thumped 2nd ranked team and beat america as well. They are no push overs, unlike what alot of americans thought. But they arnt facing a team like america again. they are facing the best team in the world, the team alot of people will think will win this so I think unless something happens to really cripple brazil:sniper: that ghana really wont be able to come out of this, but they sure can make it a fun game to watch

They've had a number of chances (six according to the BBC), but their finishing is letting them down. The shots they've had on target have all been easy for the keeper to deal with.
Fourth yellow for Ghana (fifth of the match). Brazil could exploit this towards the end of the match when the Ghanaian defenders are getting tired and still walking the tightrope of being on a yellow.

Half time, and you've got to say that 2-0 flatters Brazil. I guess 1-0 is more accurate (and Brazil's second was definitely offside), as Ghana's finishing hasn't been great. Apart from that very lucky save by Dida, Ghana haven't really threatened too much despite the possession and chances they've had.

2 - 0 to Brazil but it should be 1 - 1 with Brazil down to 10 men. Juan should be off the field. He made a horrible two footed challenge over by the side line, which the ref did nothing about and then the challenge for which he was booked.
If Ghana had one decent forward or Dida had smaller feet, then Brazil would have conceded at least once.
I hope that Ghana can come back in the second half, as Brazil do not deserve to win this game at the moment. The one good thing they have done in the entire half was the pass from Kaká for the first goal.

Brazil should have had a second when Adriano decided to dive over the keeper instead of squaring it to Ronaldo. I think that might have killed off Ghana as they'd have been 2-0 down after 12 minutes - that would have been a very severe blow to their confidence.

That second goal made by Brazil was totally offside! And I remember at least two other times when Brazil was allowed to continue to play, when it was offside! Whats wrong with the linesmen? And the ref? Appears to be biased to me. Brazil almost certainly fouled Ghana near the goal twice, and the ref did nothing.

The BBC seem to think that the ref was right in booking Adriano, I agree with them. So how should Brazil have a second. If we look at every option made by players in the match and then say that x should have scored if so-and-so had done Y, then we can invent whatever result we want for the match as being right.

Not saying it's a definite decision. Perhaps they're better at hiding their fouls to the ref (though obvious in the replays) or the officials just have the assumptions that those teams are better, so give them the benefit of the doubt more often than the other lesser teams.
I still can't understand why a ref can't change/reverse his decision once he's seen a replay. What's wrong with taking a quick look up at the big screen to make sure you've made the right decision?

The way Brazil played today, then it matters not which of France and Spain they play, they will be eliminated.
