Awkward clicks

Does any of you have awkward clicks in the body? I have one in my knee, everytime I walk upstairs my left knee always clicks incredibly loudly and i can't stop it, i think it is genetic because my brother has the same thing...
So does any of you share the same sorts of problems as I do, or do you think it is not even a problem?

i have a click in my left ankle
from netball, probably
but i dont worry about it too much
i really intensely dislike people who crack their knuckles, if thats on topic
Yar. It's normal, it happens. I can crack my toes indefinitely, but there's nothing wrong with them.

Every time I try to sneak around the house my ankles click, knees too.
Not awkward or annoying, but I can click my ankle if I rotate it. Also the obligatory fingers and thumbs and sometimes my neck. It doesn't really bother me though.

When I rub my finger and index finger together really quickly, with applied pressure, I get this freaky clicking sound myself. It scares me sometimes...

For some reason my shoulder have started clicking recently. My right wrist, thumbs, right knee, ankles, neck and elbows have all been doing it for ages. I wish there was something I could do about it, but I have no idea what as my doctor thinks its not worth bothering with unless it causes pain.

My dad used to stick his little finger into his earhole and jerk it up and down. It produced a clicking sound from inside his head. He didn't do it to gross people out (though it DID!) but because it helped with some kind of itchy feeling he got ... in there.
As if that isn't bad enough, my best friend has pointed out to me I do the SAME THING! I didn't even know. And dammit, it does help with that itchy feeling in semi-circular canals.
So I try to be tolerant of people who crack their knuckles. :)

My left hip clicks. The mre tired I get, the louder it clicks. This is from an old injury(I rode my bike off a cliff and hit a tree on the way down).

I can "click" or "crack" almost every joint in my body. I can even crack my sternem(sp?) and ribs My doctor told me that there is a very long phyiscal therapy process which can reduce it but not to worry about it unless i wanted to be an olympic gymnast, and that not on my agenda...
My arms used to crack/click involuntarily whenever I did a pushup. After doing them for months, the cracking/clicking was less frequent, but I can still do it at will.(same thing with knees and hips doing squats) I once almost gave a gym teacher a heart attack, by cracking my elbows in front of her, after i got up from fall, she thought i had broken both of my arms :)
I think it has to do with build up of Synovial fluid in the joints...

Yep, not worth the risk of that happening. Put up with the clicks, I say.

Two of my three older children have this problem, probably inherited from their father ( the 3 older children are my adopted children from my ex's first marriage ), but it goes beyond just a clicking noise with them. One of them got a medical discharge from the Navy because of it, since running regularly made her knees swell. And the other one had to have a small piece of bone removed from his elbow. So it's possible that this could be related to some sort of joint problem. If I were you, I'd have it checked out by a physician just to be on the safe side.

My original plan was to clear the branches and land on the sloping ground below and remain on the bicycle. Things took a dramatic turn when I clipped a branch, tumbled sideways, hit the trunk of a tree and tumbled to the ground. I still count my blessings that the bike landed elsewhere.

Oh Kayyyyy, so I'm getting this general idea that clicks aren't good.
Nothing scientific, of course. But getting more clicks from massive bone trauma is a clue.
Some people are just born with them though, and haven't noticed pain or restriction of movement.
We should have a poll! Like,
Your Joints Clicking Means:
(1) You can really irritatate people if you want to. Cool.
(2) There are little chips of bone floating around in your joints.
(3) There are bubbles in your synovial fluid. It's not a problem.
(4) You were a boy once. Your parents weren't over-protective.
(5) It's just your joints talking. Talk to the elbow.
(6) I'm offended by this trivialization of a medical condition.
(7) I'm going to an osteopath tomorrow. In the morning.
(8) What a dumb poll.
:D <-- this indicated I am grinning like a lunatic. I would vote (8) BTW

Your Joints Clicking Means:
(3) There are bubbles in your amniotic fluid (sp?). It's not a problem.
:D
amniotic fluid is what protects the fetus from viruses and such, synovial fluid is in your joints

My jaw and back click a lot...not sure why...probably has something to do with chewing gum all the time and bending over backwards to prove I can touch the ground that way.
i can click: jaw, neck, both wrists, all fingers (no thumbs), both elbows, both ankles, both knees, sometimes my shoulder.
and Il Rufino, i know what you mean
I can pop all of my knuckles multiple times (3-4 times each), both wrists, joints behind my pinky fingers, toes, neck, back, joints behind my little toes in my foot (makes a very loud POP and sorta hurts), knees, elbows, shoulders, jaw.
Yeah most of the mobile joints pop/can be popped. The neck thing tends to gross people out, particularly when they can hear the loud crunch/crack noise. I have done that and had it feel like electricity shooting down my arms.

I had a yoga teacher tell me the "cracks" or "clicks" were adhesions between the bone and the cartilage, as they seperated. Therefore good.
She wasn't a medical doctor, though. And I never heard HER body making any clicking noises.
