Aussie woman arrested with 320 condoms of heroin in stomach
An Australian woman swallowed 320 condoms full of heroin in an attempt to smuggle the drugs into the country, and now faces life in prison, police said on Sunday.
The 25-year-old woman was stopped by customs officers as she came off a flight from Singapore on June 18 on suspicion that she was concealing drugs.
She was taken to hospital where a medical examination revealed the condoms in her stomach. She was kept in hospital while the condoms, containing about 300 grams of heroin, passed from her system.
She has been charged with drug smuggling and faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
How the hell can someone swallow heroin filled condom? Won't they gag and throw up?

Actually it's quite common over here. The country I live in is an island and it's one of the ways drug smugglers use to get hard drugs into the country.
Knowing that the stuff might very well have been pooped by someone is another reason to stay away from it.
And there have been cases where people die when the condoms "get stuck" or rupture.

Given that a standard condom will hold about 18 litres of water, I somehow doubt that this woman had 320 condoms full of heroin in her. That works out at just under 6 cubic metres of the stuff.

Governments want to look tough on drugs. At least she wasn't smuggling them the other way, it probably would've been uglier.
But seriously, suspicion of smuggling drugs? I want to know how they got that suspicion. Was she hiccuping white powder or something?
