You're seriously behind the curve. Caucasians have been getting scholorships at predominantly African-American colleges for over 20 years now.

Yep. My older son was going to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill his first two years in college, but he screwed around as a Sophomore and didn't keep his grades up, so he wasn't able to qualify for UNC's Physical Therepist Program OR for their Registered Nurse program. So he transferred to NC A&T and enrolled in the Nursing Program there. He got a pretty good affirmative action deal.

As far as the "etc" goes, I dunno. Can you be a bit more specific? :)

In Mexico, it's down to 2.5/woman from somewhere near 6.. in the U.S. it's 2.1 among Hispanics... Mexicans are not yeast-like organisms. :p

Firstly? What is a Hispanic? Is it someone with a name like Cortez or Gonzalez or whatever? Then I suggest you stop thinking of them as a seperate race. In Europe we recognise that our Spaniards are of nigh-identical ethnic stock to ourselves, so we are free from the racial stereotyping that comes from putting people into boxes.

If Hispanic means someone south of the Rio Grande with more indigenous blood than the average American, then 1) the term is misleading, and 2) a lot of people from Oklahoma and elsewhere have more indigenous blood than many Mexicans, often while still being 'officially white'.

Okay, enough of me picking at the contrived notion of Hispanicity that allows American society to instigate racism where none was there before... and onto the topic at hand:

You get to pick your own box on the census, if they think they are hispanic, they must be hispanic. *nod*

yes i know that, i not only live in the united states, i live in new mexico which is approximately 50% hispanic

it doesnt matter. once "hispanic" exceeds "anglo" in population, every hispanic who is not black will be considered white. there will be no more "brown"

white will always be the major classification in the united states no matter how dark the average american ends up being.

there may come a day when there are more chinese in the united states than any other group. but by the time that day comes, china will be ruling the world anyway. everything will be different so that affirmative action will be the least of the changes.

I always thought that if you had any ancestors from Hispania (Spain) then you were Hispanic. That's different from Latinos, which includes Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, and Romanians; i.e, countries that speak a Romance language, or were once Roman territory. Or at least that's what every Spanish teacher I've had ever told me.

The part where it gets tricky is from all the different indigneous tribes assimilated into the Hispanic/Latino stock, like the Taino, Aztecs, Olmecs, Nahuas, Maya, Guarani, Quechua, etc, as well as the inclusion of Africans (especially in the Caribbean islands and Brazil) and European immigrants. A Carlos Rodríguez of Cuba may be an Afro-Cuban, whilst a Carlos Rodríguez of Argentina may be Hispanic and Italian.


Hispanic. People from Spanish-speaking countries, or the descendants of people from Spanish speaking countries. People who are identified as Black or Amerindian in their country of origin are often reclassified as Hispanic in the United States.

So Hispanic is only used in the United States, I guess. Because there's no other reason in Spanish-speaking countries to distinguish someone by saying they're from a country where they speak Spanish.

Race is not what determines breeding rate. Poor people tend to have the most kids, and that tends to keep them poor because they can't put all their resources behind any one child to, for example, send them to a good school.

Ask anyone who grew up in a trailor park, they'l tell you that poor white people breed like rabbits too.

You can not realise incorrect things. You can only bend truths so that you wont have to deal with the fact that you have lost (in 2050) the USA as you know it.

Scholarships are for disadvantaged minorities, why would you ask something like this?

in the not too distant future the same will be true of hispanic and arab americans, including pakistani, indian, iranian (who are white anyway), and any other not-east-asian-looking asians.
