So, only recently i found out some of my friends regularly had lucid dreams and one of them has sleep paralysis about almost every morning. I only had a lucid dream once, some years ago, so, im starting a poll to see how regular this is after all. Tell us your experiences on the subject, if any.

I have lucid dreams quite regularly, during those times when I am generally well-rested and have a decent waking-sleeping life balance.

My dreams are characterised by the ability to control gravity. :) I am able to jump from heights repeatedly, and decelerate myself through willpower, at the bottom of every descent. It is quite fun. One memorable dream involved running up the steps of a tower block, and jumping from the roof, over and over again, enjoying the control I had over the fabric of the dream reality.

I have never had a 'falling' dream that involved fear.

Never the paralysis thing though.

I remember almost all of my dreams, and almost always excercise some direct control over their events. I usually immerse myself in the ancient world, setting myself up as a knight, wizard, army commander, or some such thing.

It's enjoyable to kick ass.

Hrm.. what if my dreams sometimes (might) make me have trouble breathing, and feeling like I'm actually there?

Well.. im not sure. Do you know you are dreaming? If so, i guess thats a lucid dream. I'm not exacly sure, since i only had once, and it was short because i got scared and tried to kill myself in the dream, so i would wake up (dont ask).
I found that some of my friends can control their dreams, and others cant very well, so, some end up in nightmares.

I have only had one longer dream where I became lucid (which ended with me fighting some weird, RPG-boss like monster, eventually tiring of the fight and opening up a large, fiery hole in the ground that swallowed the enemy) and stayed so for a relatively long time. I have had a couple of short-lasting lucid moments, however. The first, my first lucid dream segment, ended with me waking up as soon as I became aware of that I was dreaming. Another ended just as I, in order to demonstrate the fact that it was a dream to a few people that were with me, jumped high into the air.

As for sleep paralysis, I have had a few experiences of it while in the fuzzy state between sleeping and having fully woken up, involving some kind of undescribable, extremely uncomfortable and very strong feeling spreading through my whole body. Usually you don't remember anything that goes on while in that state (your memory doesn't work properly, and you cannot think clearly), but the feeling, once it got strong enough, made me wake up instantly.
