Since the past ones were a sham, and all future are bound to be, seeing as no one in these fora need to be represented by anyone else, no, and we will hopefully never see a repeat of the farce.

Last ones were at the end of March, weren't they? As they're meant to be every four months...no.

You hardly missed anything. The usual allegations of vote-rigging, the usual people complaining that they're pointless, the usual counter-arguments that it's "just a bit of fun", etc, etc.

NS General Parliament became a sink of corruption, apathy and impotence. It was stormed by the NS General Revolution and a state of anarchy ensued, bringing peace.

Oh? More or less radical?
err... well, i always believed the ideologies of the UDCP to be a long-term approach (up to 200 years, say) but that it was important to have a specific target to aim for. i also believed that in terms of every-day politics the UDCP is too radical - all communism is. people are not ready for it just now. i still believe the UDCP is a simply great set of ideals, but for today it is too far-fetched. i will continue to support the party as far as i can though (and will stay a regional member, admin, etc etc)

the new party will be less radical and very much more based on equality of opportunity rather than that of outcome (ie meritocracy rather than wage fixing), and still rather socialist in nature, but probably quite libertarian.
i'm not actually sure - am still figuring out things in my head and researching/reading things... busy at the mo but will get on it as soon as i have some spare time :)

That's true, but then his going in circles would cause him to seriously question the validity of train travel at all, and he'd be compelled to use the magic of capitalism to purchase an automobile and drive somewhere else!

Sounds interesting. I was considering creating a party based around social freedom, possibly free-trade and globalization (freedom of movement, condemnation of military buildup etc.) and progressive programs to attack the causes of poverty and raise the poor up, not just throw money at them (New Deal-esque) that purposefully rejects using any named ideologies, as they are often divisive and usually annoy someone. When you’ve come to a decision about your own party, send me a tg.

Heh.

Also, well. If this is really where you and capitalism differ than all you need to do is realize that capitalism is essentially meritocratic. Once you make this realization you will be in capitalism-land. Naturally you will oppose this concept, but I have good hopes that you will see the light. Amen.

Well, since the third election, I've been writing a party manifesto of my own. Basically, a blend of Austrian economics (not Rothbardian anarcho-capitalist, more like Hayek or Mises), Starship Troopers' meritocracy, and lots of Locke. It's about 25 pages long now according to Microsoft Word, and I'm starting to suspect that I have graphomania from the endless stream of words that I've placed in the document. Nonetheless, I'm not at the 100000 character limit yet, so it'll probably be short enough to put in one post. Probably not short enough for most people to subject themselves to reading the whole thing, though... :D
