I haven't realy studied up on this. I just heard it on Daily Show. I was just wondering what you guys think of it, because I don't like to look for webnews. What I know is that Typodong is North Korea's missile that they have showed on international television. Bush hasn't addressed it yet, he's still busy with Iran's alleged missile.

What I know is limited too. But I've heard they were going to launch it but the weather wasnt good enough or something? Not sure.
A 6,000 km range missile capable of reaching Alaska and blowing out Japan.
I think that pretty much resumes it.
Of course, the US is looking again to the wrong enemies. Let Russia handle Iran, backup your japanese allies that have been quite loyal to us during your "War against Terrorism"
But that's my opinion, meh.

Thank you for summing it up for me.
We should just admit that Russia is the US's personal bodyguard that often turns against him and wants to murder it brutally.
Actually, they call it the long war.

Well, I can't spell it unless it's in a Queen song. I spelled basmillah, silhouette, and scaramouche right, but all you notice is TYPODONG!!! *cries*:(

This one is actually the Taepodong II.

There's not a lot known about it. But I reckon the Koreans probably have the technology to build warheads that can change direction (like the Shahab 3B has) and avoid anti-missile missiles, but those are heavy, and the TPII is a pretty primitive ICBM, so weight is an issue.
It would probably be relatively easy to take down compared to modern ICBMs like the Topol-M. So the whole issue is blown a little bit out of proportion. Maybe because the Star Wars Program is running out of money, who knows?

There sure are a lot of Russians moving/have moved to the US. I guess that doesnt mean they have to like us though.
Pleease...
Russia wouldn't like to see the US nuked, that would mean the start of a MDA.

The more I hear about North Korea the more convinced I am that Iran is being a (deliberate?) waste of our time.
North Korea is so illiberal, inhumane and downright dangerous that it makes Iran look like the Netherlands! The situation in Iran is being artificially drawn out by Russia and India so they can play with Central Asia like cats play with dead mice and cyphon off their oil on the cheap. Meanwhile, the USA and the EU3 think that by showing North Korea we can be fair negotiators we'll encourage them to disengage... fat chance!
The only language North Korea is going to understand is force, alas, we have left it too late because our governments insist on using war for economic and electoral reasons rather than upon judging what would be safest for the planet!
(And about Korean spellings. In the native Korean is spelt with phonetically representitive blocks, each block containing an element representing an initial consonant (or a place holder), which are actually diagramatical representations of the shape of the mouth, a vowel which is represented by a series of lines whose direction and interaction dictate the length and tone of the sound, and sometimes a final vowel. The writing system is phonetically perfect and the easiest to write of all East Asian scripts. The latin transliterations are relatively simple and rely on the reproduction of the sounds of the syllabic blocks...)

Of course it's not! If it were, Canada would just be the rest of Wisconsin.
