So what do you expect to be having for breakfast the next time it comes around?
Me:
1 pack of "Habanero Beef Sticks" (I haven't tried 'em before, but I like habaneros and I like beef sticks)
1 green salad
2 500 ml diet cokes

my usual bowl of shredded wheat or cheerios, glass of OJ, and a granola bar.

The kids get a choice of pancakes or Belgian waffles every morning.
They can also have eggs cooked to order.
I always have bacon (not sugar cured) and sausage available.
Orange juice, coffee, or milk to drink.
Biscuits (homemade)
Grits
and sausage gravy
Not everyone eats everything - people might only take one item, depending on how hungry they are. But I'm always up at around 5 AM to get it started.
At the very least, I can't live without strong coffee.

we're already very popular.
I always have at least one battered woman and her children on the run from her ex-husband sheltering at my house.
My wife and I have five children (two of which are her sister's children - her sister became a heroin addict).
And the neighbors' children come over for breakfast and sometimes for dinner.
I have an enormous dining table that seats 18 without too much trouble, but it occupies the dining room and the living room at the same time.
If you're going to drop in and you don't live nearby, just give me a day's notice.

 I officially dub thee super dad. (And somewhere along the line, the fact that you have kids slipped past my radar screens.)
And as far as my breakfast (possibly) being the target of that "crap" comment, my breakfast varies highly and rarely consists of anything regarded as traditional back home, unless I am back home. Toast, oatmeal, and muesli (usually dry, occassionally fresh) are the exceptions. Back home, it's usually rice chex and chereeos, bagels, and (depending on who's cooking) bacon, sausage, eggs, and/or grits.

I was in a hotel in Tokyo, and they offered a "Europe" breakfast that was a bowl of oatmeal (cooked, but cold) with a cold fried egg on top. I thought to myself, "wow, Europe must have changed..."

Excellent. If I ever happen to be in the neighborhood, I'll be giving notice, if you don't mind. I can guarentee the kindness of your table will be appreciated in an appropriate fashion. ;)

i just have some cereal, corn flakes usually, unless they've run out, or nobody's bought any.
Many people I know don't have breakfast at all. I think that it was just under 50% that didn't have any at all from a recent survey here in Portsmouth - which I think is A LOT.

Whatever you do, don't eat breakfast at the Grange Holborn in London.
They are trying to do the breakfast buffet thing, and trying to hit the mark for a "classic English breakfast", but it's worse than a parody.
Both times I ate the sausage, I ended up throwing up my breakfast later in the morning.

LOL
Actually, the best beakfasts (and in general, some of the best meals) I've ever had in Japan were at Buddhist meditation retreats. The last long (10 days) one I did, every morning we had:
fresh fruit - apples, mandarin oranges, grapes, and bananas
oatmeal or brown rice porridge
a choice of fresh baked whole wheat or multi-grain bread, and a selection of bagels, with 3 jams, marmalade, butter, and cream cheese on the side
4 kinds of cereal and 2 kinds of muesli, with either yoghurt, cream or milk
And Coffee, a selection of black and herbal teas, milk, or water
Only thing I would have added (it was veg after all) would have been some nice grits. :D
I had a chocolate banana muffin, it was quite yummy :).

You'll have to get in line.
We are apparently a more likeable destination than the local women's shelter, and all the kids in the neighborhood like coming by to eat.

Yep, that's a pretty standard given given - always go for something outside the hotel (unless it's a small mom & pop opertation).

We have Rules at our table...
no politics, sex, or religion discussed at table
no arguing about personal stuff
eat first, argue somewhere else
marmite on toast or just buttered toast with a strong cup of tea.

Cornflakes, OJ and a nice cuppa tea.
Although I don't get the tea sometimes if I'm in a hurry.

I went on holiday to Denmark years back and breakfasts were seriously yummy :) (and they had beer at McDonalds...)

Freshly baked bread with cheese and marmite or muesli with yoghurt and fruit, a glass of multi juice (actualy juice, not something that has a name ending in drink) and tea. On certain days porridge.
Unless some of last night's dinner is left over, in which case it's a delicious cooked breakfast.

Well, this morning I decided to eat breakfast because I had 1/2 an hour before a show I wanted to watch came on, and we were out of Apple Jacks, so I had a bagel and a glass of cranberry juice with an ice cube in it.
Breakfast can mean anything for me. Pancakes, waffles, French toast, bacon, cereal, bagels, toast, pizza, quesadillas, cake, pie, whatever. I don't bother with having certain foods for certain meals.
