Clearly a sport like kick boxing is going to be more violent than say.. football. How are sports where your goal is to beat the other person up even being considered against sports where violence is an occasional biproduct??

A certain rule that could be applied to any game, this rule was used by My Cousin and I when we were younger simply named "Tackle Anything"
Simply, we would put the word Tackle in front of any game were playing.

yep, me too.
ben darwin in the rwc semi final in 2003 - he was stretchered off the field, never to play again

even in the school's comp, kids get air lifted to hospital way more frequently than they should be. the scrums collapse and they're crushed

edit: I think I just proved the case for it being more dangerous, rather than violent. oh well.

the most violent sport in the world is either boxing (for obvious reasons) or murderball. the rules of murderball are: 1. do what the referee/NCO IC says. 2. no rape. 3. no tackles above the neck

Dog Brothers stickfighting matches

Throughout these DVDs the teaching is illustrated by real fights. These fights are not tournament "full contact stickfighting" pillow fights that you may have seen, but "Real Contact Stickfighting" as done by the recently surfaced underground group "the Dog Brothers". Under Real Contact rules, EVERYTHING short of deliberately putting your opponent in the hospital is allowed - any stick techniques, punching, kickboxing, elbowing, kneeing, headbutting, trapping, throwing, grappling, locking, and choking are all allowed against anywhere on the body. Seeing how the material taught in these DVDs is applied in real time will deeply accelerate your learning.

No it shouldn't. The competitors are willing participants, and a good fight isn't crazy, pointless violence, but rather a display of athleticism, strategy, and courage found in few other sports.

The translation of the Portuguese 'vale tudo' is literally 'all valid' which when converted to normal English phrasing become 'everything allowed'. How it differs from UFC etc. I don't have a clue.

So a vertebra is not a bone in your view then. Cause I broke one of mine playing Rugby. Or is it the case that people break bones in other sports as well.

I believe, but this is from memory so it is probably wrong, that the sport that results in the most broken bones per man hour is equestrianism!
