Thankfully I'm not one of those Canadian hockey fanatics or I'd be really crushed instead of just mildly dissappointed.

Now the scary part: what's going to be left of Edmonton in the morning? I mean they can get a little... crazy... out there in Alberta. They still have rodeos, for gawd's sake. Here's hoping for a strong police presence on the Red Mile to avert the riot :P

Well at least theres the satisfaction of knowing that about half the players on the Carolina team are Canadian...

Canadian teams are a minority so you lose to the American Cities because of it.

Down with Canada. :D

*note* kidding on the down with Canada.

Well we can be consolled knowing that many of the best players in the US hail from Canada...and the best among them often hail from the Oilers.

For the longest time we had a fantastic training program (still do), but couldn't afford to keep the best rookies...so we'd turn them out to great careers elsewhere. I'm hoping the salary cap is going to even things out a bit more.

LOL, well at least there's that :) You suppose it's wishful thinking to believe that if Canadian-raised hockey players refused to play for non-Canadian teams, the cup would never see American soil? :) Sidney Crosby, get your athletic little round butt back home this instant!

Really! If Edmonton had won, almost all of Canada would have been ecstatic for months. But as it is, in a week or so the cup will be lost in a broom closet somewhere and Joe Yankee Average will be like "hockey-- that's the one that you play on the ice, i'nnit?" :P
