Nacho Libre

In the history of film, only two movies had been able to accurately portray everyday Mexico:
1. The Three Amigos
2. Desperado.
To this list we must now add "Nacho Libre." I saw it on the weekend and must now stamp it with my seal of approval.
Unfortunately I lost it. It may be inside a empanada.
But I still liked the movie.
What you Mexicans call an empanada is just a bastardised version of the REAL empanada (http://www.kike.c.telefonica.net/endosan/chile.htm).
I desperately want to see Nacho Libre, and you've just added to that.
Oh wait...you've described the Three Amigos and Desperados as accurately portraying everyday Mexico.
So you were JOKING.
Hmmmm.
I'm craving an empanada now.

The Three Amigos and Nacho Libre are accurate portrayals of everyday Mexico? Apparently Mexico is a silly, silly place.

So you were JOKING.
What? You don't think I look like Antonio Banderas?
Hmmmm.
I'm craving an empanada now.
Now I'll have to try both versions to decide.

Well, it kind of is.

What? You don't think I look like Antonio Banderas? Well, I've never been blessed with a picture of you, so I can't say...but I doubt you've knocked a man out with your guitar without in anyway disrupting your rousing song in which you declare your love for white tequila...
Los Lobos have few songs I like, but that one is a classic.

But that's just because I prefer gold tequila.

Yeah, that's a good one.

Empanada's are amazing. I basically lived off them when I was in the backend of nowhere in Argentina for a month.

And after all, what would a Jack Black movie be without him looking as silly as can be?

His face and physical comedy style reminded me a lot of Capulina, who also made a movie with luchadores:

Wait 'till you try an Filipino empanada.. never complete without a fistful of raisins and a rock-hard seed made for breaking your jaw on..
Haven't seen the movie though.. maybe if I could for less than $10.25, I would. :p

You may have your empanads, but there's nothing better than a nice, fried jihad.

It was ok, but the bootleg DVD I watched kept going silent in places and I was very, very drunk. Too drunk to fully appreciate the movie. And since the movie was a silly Jack Black flick, you can imagine how drunk I was.

Yeah, that's exactly what they look like. No, not really...my mother-in-law folds them differently...and are those dates? Eww! Has to be raisins. But I think the main idea is the same...deliciosa!
Damn, I'm hungry now!

OK, now you've all got me curious enough to seek enlightenment at the risk of impalement: What is an empanada? They sound yummy.

Thats an Argentine empanada, larger than the puny Chilean ones
and of course those are raisins.
Meat, raisins, more meat, egg maybe, meat sauce, more meat, spieces or stuff like that, more meat, maybe some small vegetables
and you know, meat

This is what happens when you live in a rural enough area that you remember when your street went from gravel to chip 'n seal and tar(back in '91, I do believe, but thankfully, the road people saw fit to actually pave it a few yrs. later)-you have a distinctive lack of access to any Mexican food other than(the HORROR!!.)Taco Bell, the not even-that-great-of-a wannabe Mexican fast-food joint.
As for your pity: Can I instead have a freshly made empanada, like the 1 you described to Sinuhue? It can be my last meal before you kill me.;) Pretty please?
