Stanley Cup Final, the cup to come back home?

I think the Canes are done in. They have no oomph left in their play. They are tired, they are bruised, and the Oilers have finally gotten back into their groove. Game six was a crushing victory for the Oil, and I just don't see Carolina bouncing back from that.

Thoughts?

I think Edmonton has it, all they need to do is score a couple times in game 7

And it looked so bleak those first couple of games...*sobs*...

I'm a bit thankful that if they win it, it won't be in Edmonton...I don't think the city could stand that level of excitement. It'll be crazy enough as it is, but hopefully people won't be burning cars and going totally insane...

My kids are all into the screaming and yelling that accompanies the viewing and celebration of the game. The two-year old chants 'Oilers, Oilers'...it's hilarious:) They love the hockey game, because everyone gets together and acts so strangely.

I'm pretty sure all my neighbors think I'm nuts, seeing as I'm matching them for World Cup Madness, then getting up at 9 am and screaming at the TV about ice hockey - in the heat of the Japanese rainy season....

(I don't mind - when one has the reputation for being a character that I do here, it's quite fun. :D)

All I know is the Cup belongs in Canada. It is your sport and the oilers cant let the neighbours to the south steal it from you(again). So go Oilers!

My parents look at me like I'm nuts when I sit glued to the game screaming my arse off...during exam time...

On first read, that sucked...but on second, it was actually good enough for a giggle ;)

I'm glad I'm out of Edmonton today though...madness I tell you...it will be MADNESS!

I really hope Edmonton win it, it's been a long time between drinks for them. Plus I was born there.

GO OILERS!

Alright...should be at 6 Mountain Time, 8 Eastern isn't it?

Wah...I have to watch the game alone (or semi-alone, with the children wandering in an out as is their wont) and there won't be the insane group screaming and freaking out...

Should've got a ticket at Rexall place to watch it:(

I'm totally not a sports fan by the way...and this exercise in the group mentality is painful for me, but I do admit that I want the Stanley Cup back in Edmonton...I was raised hearing Oilers hockey games on the radio, and got used to the glory of having cup after cup after cup...

My only thought is that I'm glad that no matter who wins...the hockey season is over.

My god, do you realize how much those tickets cost? They're all sold out. The few floating around the black market cost about $2,300 for ONE hockey game!

I know. Actually during the game on Saterday, my friends and I figured we could have driven to Raleigh in time for the game tonight (as did a number of other people). May have actually done it except for that my Chemistry diploma is tomorrow and I'd rather pass this class than take it a 2nd time through.

Damned exams. :( Well, at least your team GOT to the finals. My city doesn't have a team in the NHL, and the closest one, the Canucks, is not doing very well at all...

I wonder which team Calgary fans would cheer on...

Well they better not cheer on the Hurricanes, but then as my friends dad said (somewhat of an Albertan redneck),"I didn't cheer for your team so you better as hell not cheer for mine."

They might be. The mayor of Calgary put on a Mighty Ducks jersey a couple of weeks back during the Western Conference finals. :(

Oh well, it's only Calgary. Not like they're good at much in the first place be it playing the sports or cheering for the sports.

Ouch...burn on the city. Oh well, nobody other than Calgarians and Stephen Harper cares about Calgary anyway.

I'd like to take this opportunity to laugh in Edmonton's bitch-ass faces!

HAHAHAAAAAAAAA EAT IT EDMONTON!

The only reason you made it to the Finals was because the refs were on crack during Game 6 of the Western Conference quarterfinals and some sleazy son of a bitch kicked the puck in past Legace and got away with it; that's not to say I'm not angry at Detroit for blowing a 3rd period lead for the first time in god knows how long, but that shit was just heinous.

Edmonton had no business making it past round one and in hindsight I'm glad they made it as far as they did before getting beaten down like the little bitches they are.
