A "Complete" Movie

I've seen several films lately that I thoroughly enjoyed, up until a terrible ending.

Of course, a movie might start really slow or stupid, but build itself up into something respectable by the end.

Either way, neither of these would be a "complete" film.

What movie, in your opinion, is the best from beginning to end...as a "complete" film?

Zombie movies. A zombie movie that is true to the genre is all middle. There is no slow beginning and there is no clear conclusion at the end, just middle.

And which Zombie movie do you feel comes closest to being just "middle"?

Romero's trilogy.
Nothing else comes close.

Romero's trilogy.
Nothing else comes close.
While not of as such a high quality as Romero's trilogy, the new Dawn of the Dead is quite entertaining, and the film itself is well executed.

Day is definitely the best for that.

Quite right. I enjoyed it. It was a good homage to Romero, without being just another remake.
Romero's last zombie flick was pretty good as well, but not quite up to the standard of Dawn - or Day - .

V for Vendetta

I personally thought that V for Vendetta sort of fell apart about two thirds of the way through. I'm slow, but obviously the whole torture thing was supposed to indicate some charrie development, and it did absolutely nil for me that way. Otherwise an excellent movie though.

I'm trying to think of my own candidates for "complete" movie, and not really coming up with anything. Something like Bridge over the River Kwai is good... Batman Begins seemed really good that way, there's always something important happening. I dunno.

A bit different than the comic, obviously ... so you would say that it wasn't really a good feeling when the pseudo-Fawkeses moved in on Parliament? I loved that part. A lot.

Actually, those are both excellent examples. :)

Ah, no, I wasn't clear. It was only the torture bit that confused me... the film failed (imho) to bring across any real change caused by the experience. Otherwise a truly excellent movie. Maybe if I watched it again I'd get that one bit. *g*

WizardsWhat an ending!
Dark CityYou know the one part that screamed out at me, i bitched at length at you about it once.

Could have been what appeared to be the pointlessness of being held just long enough to admit something, in Evey's mind. *shrug*
I don't suppose waterboarding and the like are entirely persuasive, but she might have been drawing on prior visual experience to help ... as well, the letter.
If you mean that an average person mightn't be turned by that, that's entirely possible.
They did skip the LSD parts for some reason.

Over Return of the Killer Tomatos? A movie with both ex-congressman Gary Condit and George Clooney? To say nothing of Gomez Adams. Surely you were saving it for a surprise counter-attack which I have just spoiled.
