So I had Gazpacho the other day...

RIPOFF!!!

I was expecting some spanish soup delicacy

and its just cold tomato soup! and charged double the price of soup!!

Sure, it had some spices, but these were weak, and you could've but that on tomato soup, and you know, HEATED it.

anyone else had this?

I've let my tomato soup get cold after I've eaten my grilled cheese and was too stoned to remember there was still soup...

Hey, if you didn't know what Gazpacho was, it's yer own damn fault.

Also, judging a dish by a single example is--what's the word I'm looking for? Oh yeah. Moronic.

Hmm, I was going to say that Gazpacho is really a cold vegetable soup, not just tomato soup, at least that's how we know it here.

Turns out - not really, accroding to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gazpacho): Gazpacho descends from an ancient Andalusian concoction based on a combination of stale bread, garlic, olive oil, salt, and vinegar - a cold breadsoup. With the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492, the tomato and the bell pepper were brought to Europe. In the United States and other countries, there exists the common misconception that the fundamental ingredient of Gazpacho is Tomato. While tomato is an important ingredient of the most commonly-known form of Gazpacho, it is still the original ingredients mentioned above, which define this recipe. In Andalusia, there are many types of Gazpacho, many of them not including tomato at all."

Whatever. I don't like it either way (although, honestly, that bread version sounds worth a try).

Gazpacho is best drink for summer ever:D :D :D :D

Anyway It isnt tomato soup, it has more ingredients that give it really good taste. Tomato soup really sucks.
Maybe you have eaten a bad gazpacho made it mostly of tomato soup...

I feel like I'm in the middle of a Red Dwarf episode.

At least you didn't pull a Rimmer and send back the soup to the kitchens because it was cold.

I had Tirmisu at this Italian place, once. A slice of stale bread soaked in lumpy coffee would have been better.

Oh, yes. And sampling a food you didn't like over and over until you decide you like it is the HEIGHT of intellect.
