Hey everyone, I was wondering if some of you may be medical experts and could help think of ways (Activities, Diet, Etc) that I can lower my blood pressure.

Thanks

Slashing your wrists should help. Why, if all the blood runs out, there won't even be any pressure to worry about. ^^

Or, to rephrase, stop going on NSG.

I was going to suggest copious blood loss, but it appears i've been beaten to it.

Laughter.

Make a fool out of yourself. If this is a new experience for you, try the following;

Do silly dances in public.
Go to the grocery store and buy a banana cream pie. After paying for it, apologize for the mess, open the pie take it out right there in the store and smack yourself with it. Then say, "Thanks. I needed that."
Dress like a pirate for no apparent reason and go about your business.

It's wonderful if you could do it through exercise (any sort of cardio is good, long walks, running, aerobics and so on) and diet (low sodium, balanced), but you have to keep getting checked to see if you are pulling it off. Weight loss if you are overweight or obese is very recommended, seeing as it not only lowers blood pressure, but also lowers your risk of developing diabetes type II. Giving up smoking if you're a smoker and reducing alcohol intake are important choice to be made, as well.

If you can't manage this, then medication may be the better choice. There are ACE-inhibitors, AII-receptor antagonists, diuretics, beta blockers and so on that are effective. Most except the beta blockers are suitable for combination with exercise, so just because you take a pill doesn't mean you won't be able to wean yourself off it by getting a healthier lifestyle. Talk to your doctor about it.
