On the upside: it seems they did finally release the player owned housing. Which they had been promising to do for about... 3 years now I believe. Which is about when I played last ;)

On the downside: the community is still as worthless as it has always been.

Conclusion: many better games out there.

Oh, well I'm interested in free games(I might get Guild wars soon) if my comp will do it, it dial up, Runescape not worth money, I'd rather pay to play Everquest II(might not work properly either)

what free or p-f-p games can a dial-up support?

Level 97. I win :D
I've pretty much stopped playing now, since I discovered NS and realised the average IQ on the Runescape forums was about 30.

Let's see, I started playing Runescape back in like 2001, and player owned housing was promised before that (that was why they had woodplanks). So they have been promising player owned housing at least 6 or 7 years ago.

I stopped playing like 3 years ago because it went p2p and stopped introducing any free content. And now it costs a crapload more than it did then. I'm surprised people kept paying.

I started playing Runescape before they first removed the forums.

I wonder how much the stuff is worth that I collected and is molding over in my account.

I played Runescape once awhile ago, but I couldn't really get into it. It definitely isn't something that I'd think of paying for.

Blech, runescape. I'm embarrassed to say I was obsessed with that game for quite a while. I got bored a couple years ago though and gave all my money to a friend. I think I started playing around 2001 or 2002, not too long after the game came out anyways.

Yarg. Runescape. Me and my buddies played that for a week... maybe two... very addicting at first, but it got old fairly quick.
My dad had a level 105 or something like that on the game, before he got tired of it. :p
But, yeah... it's just a grinding game, which isn't much fun...
*goes off to grind zombies in Urban Dead* :p ;)

Good AI makes humans look like the idiots they are.

Only thing I have left in Runscape is some 29k in gold, an adamantium battle axe and wood axe, an Easter Egg from 2000 or something, a couple duplicates of all Halloween Masks from around 2002 or so. A couple Santa Hats from the same year, a white party hat, Easter Bunny ears (the first item made so you can't lose it), a Zombie head, a yo-yo somewhere, a couple enchanted ruby and diamond amulets, a staff of air and fire, a bunch of cosmic runes, 30 fliers, a bunch of fishing equipment, several "Potions," a couple dozen Kebabs, and crafting items. And a couple cool capes.

I play RuneScape, my name on there is Xyra Phantom, and I'm level 57. Non-member:(

It does get really boring once you've done all the quests and gone all over the f2p areas... I wanted to try that player-owned housing but no, it's "members only":sniper:

And my friends are willing to pay 5 bucks just to do something. Runescape, Nationstates, Mugglenet, and MS Word are the only things I can do due to the lack of intelligence in my town, and I'm about to lose Runescape because it is really beginning to SUCK.

Runescape is ACTUALLY poor. If you're gonna play a MMPORPG, play GUILD WARS.

And the thing is, Runescape is like what? $10 a month now? When they first went p2p it was like $1 month. The people at Jagex got all caught up in the idea that a bunch of dumb as rocks kids will pay for their shitty game.

I'm on Guild Wars.
You can hit me up with Rufio Cartigan.

Only reason I like Runescape, it's free and my computer can hold it(not sure if it can hold Guild wars though), but if they ever charge me for playing at all(as non-member) then I'll quit.

and also, it's kinda addictive to me.

If you don't have enough room for a 1GB game, you need a new harddrive. They arn't expensive.

I played back in the days of RS Classic, and then a year or two into the new one. Thats when I realized that the there was nothing to really do in the game. Good memories while I played it, because alot of my friends played it as well but for me the game can no longer deliver.

Tried it once...It sucked ass. It's where herds of morons with cross-dressing tendencies gather to misspell at each other.

AAAAAAAAAMEN.

I was level 100 by the way  . I realized quickly after achieving said rank that no matter how hard you try, it's always the cheaters who will be richer, stronger, and better than you.

It's such a corrupt game, stop before it's too late.

Yup...but, I got as sick of Guild Wars as much (well not as much) but quite a lot, like I did with Runescape...although, guild wars is addictive if you have the time to play. And with it being free-to-play, those $50/30 pounds seem worth it...Veeery worth it :D

I heard from some people that it isn't worth buying Guild Wars cause barely anybody plays. Everyone is into World of Warcraft (though personally I thought Guild Wars looked better). So would you guys recommend buying it or no?
