I've always thought of myself as a socialist/communist person when it came to politics. But I'm not actually sure of what to call myself. I guess you could say I'm a communist realist since I'm sure that there won't be a world revolution and the government won't wither away like Marx predicted. I figured I'd post my political beliefs on the forum and see what you guys make of it.
My ideal government would be a reformation of the USSR. Basically, if I was Khrushchev, after taking control I would denounce Stalin and all that, but go a step further than he did. I would allow the Soviet people to vote for who represents them in Moscow (although they would still be part of the Communist Party). I would also completely forget about the West and the nuclear bomb and all foreign relations, I'd take a neutral stance on world issues. Instead of using the USSR's economy on bombs and the Space Race I would base everything around consumer goods and health-care and education and etc. As for social polices (i.e. gay rights, abortion, drugs) I'm for it.
So whattcha think? Communist, Socialist, State-Capitalist-That-Benefits-The-People-As-Whole?.....man I'm tired....
