Well, does anyone?

A poll is comming, I'm just trying to gauge the popularity of my favourite card game.

EDIT: Poll is here, praise Myrth!

Yes, I play. It is a popular card game in the northeast and midwest of the U.S. Most of the people I have found who know the game come from New York state or Michigan.
Not bad

I used to play but the friends I had that played all live far away now.

I know my left bower from my right bower.

Euchre is a game that you find in the US where there was once a high concentration of German Immigrants.

I prefer setback, but euchre is good.

My parents, aunts, uncles, and such played it back in the 50s and 60s, but none of the younger generation picked it up. Same goes for the domino game "42." We still get together to play games, just not those two anymore.

So where's the poll option for "Eeew, that's an old peoples game." ;)

Whaaa? Really? But...but... we don't have it here in Germany.
At least I think we don't. Hmmm. (If we do and anybody knows the German name for it - I'd be eternally grateful if you told me, m'kay?)

Anyway, the only time I've ever played Euchre was when staying with a friend's grandparents on a farm in Ontario for a couple of days - and I *loved* it! Looooved it. Instant favorite card game ever.

Don't remember a single rule.

First rule - look for the left and right bowers.

Actually...Yes, though very rarely. It's an old-folk thing in this part of the world, and it's known as "vist", not "euchre" in these parts. I read that wikipedia thing, and the rules are exactly the same, though things have different names.

Probably the closest thing to that game that I have ever played is Spades.

I thought the first rule was "don't talk about euchre"

I haven't played it for years, so I've forgotten much of it. I do play 500 though, which I think is a simplified form of euchre. 500 has left & right bowers.

I used to play it, but when I moved out of state I forgot the rules. Silly out of state people not playing Euchre.
