BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A man transporting his wife's severed head in a pickup truck collided with an oncoming car, killing a woman and her 4-year-old daughter, police said. The impact sent the head flying onto the road.

A Boise police officer was driving behind Alofa Time's truck on a busy road when he noticed the man's erratic driving and then watched him slam into the car, police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said.

Time, 51, who was not injured, told officers he was involved his wife's death, investigators said.

After searching Time's house in Nampa, police found the decapitated body of 47-year-old Theresa N. Time in a car inside the garage, authorities said. She likely had been dead for several hours, Nampa Police Lt. LeRoy Forsman said.

An autopsy was scheduled next week to determine Theresa Time's cause of death, Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris said.

Time was being held on two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Samantha Nina Murphy, 36, of Boise, and her daughter Jae Lynne Grimes. Murphy's other daughter was injured and was in stable condition at a Boise hospital.

"It was one of the more horrific and complex crime scenes on memory," Hightower said. "A woman and her child killed in a crash, and a severed head from an earlier homicide: It's nothing short of bizarre and tragic."

The age-old debate of gender differences in the driving realm aren't based on figures -- it used to be based simply off the fact that most women, in older cars of the 50's and earlier, just didn't learn how to drive. Some because it was too difficult (until they started putting the gear shift up by the steering wheel), some because they didn't have time, but the effect is all the same -- since that time, we've been watching men puff up their chests and proudly state "Despite proven figures otherwise, men are better drivers than women!"

And I say, best not to get into this pissing match.

If by "getting all the advantages" you mean taht I get barred from the job I've wanted for YEARS simply because half the job description is something that, while I'm perfectly capable of, they're simply not used to chicks doing, then yeah. We get all the perks. But we also have to take lower-paying, soul-sucking jobs because the goddamn adventure course used the bullshit rape excuse.

I find myself most irritated with old people on the road as well as people with christian stickers and such displayed all over their car. Do they drive horribly so people will pay attention to them and notice how religious they are?

Perhaps it's just coincidence but I have been seeing a pattern in several different states.

I wanted to be the event coordinator/safety coach for an adventure course in the area. Unfortunately, because most of the shifts are for overnight parties, especially over the summer, they turned me down with the excuse of "We never know if something of the nature of a sexual assault could occur" and hired somebody with absolutely no experience, while I've been doing things like that for years.

Women aren't the cause of crashes. Cell phones aren't the cause of crashes. Your radio isn't the cause of crashes. Bad driving is the cause of crashes. Cell phones and radios can cause some people to drive badly. Some women drive badly. But you can't tell me that a (stereotypical) woman going slowly and trying not to hit anything because she doesn't want to mess up her nails is a worse driver than a (stereotypical) guy going 80 in a 55 zone with the radio on loud, paying more attention to not spilling his beer than to driving.

My personal observations on drivers:
People over 40 are generaly good drivers.
Women tend to not notice that the light turns colors.
Men tend not to care that the light turns colors.
Women tend to drive like idiots, men like assholes.
