What is wrong with John Reid!?

Is it just me or does everything Doc John Reid say or do seem like... entirely the wrong thing to say or do?

I remember a while ago when as Health Secretary he caused controversy when he defended smoker's rights by saying that tobacco addiction is the one remaining pleasure for poor people.

And recently his first act as leader of the Home Office was to blame those he was responsible for, and recently he has stated that he wants the British public to 'stop moaning' aboy crime, and that it's not his problem (what the hell!?).

So what is wrong with this man? Is he mad? Or is this simply a plain-speaking politician, or maybe a product of another political culture.

I throw this question open because I really do not understand this man's 'deal'.

Maybe the 60s were really, really good to him.

He's just a tough Glasweigan thrown into every department ever created because Blair is running out of other allies to fill the posts, and because the Blairites are desperate to find someone to follow the Dear Leader other then Brown.

There's no point getting worked up about him, he'll be moved to a new department by time I've finished writing this.

Only a few days AFTER John Reid became Home Secretary did I impune him of being no better than his predecessor.

labourite chorus: OMGWTF you can't hold him responsible for the stupid mistakes of his predecessors!

Within a week, he was making the same stupid mistakes.
Releasing paedophiles and such.

The Tories want to rape the working classes.
Labour wants to rape your kinds.

And the worst thing a LibDem has ever done was having consentual sex with another feller...

So the worse thing a LibDem has ever done is lie, cheat and humiliate his family by letting them find out five minutes before the whole country?

Nice guy.

Incidently, it wasn't just 'bedding' another guy. His bedroom habits were really quite disgusting. It would be against the rules to say what he did, but when I say the LibDems are full of shit, I mean it in more ways than one.

I'm not saying he is a nice guy.

I'm saying he isn't enabling foreign paedophiles to snuff british kids.

You really think that the LibDems would have stopped this? They're so busy fighting among themselves, it would probably take the 10 years to even notice that the prisoners were just walking out.

*Thinks*

A bit like New Labour then.

Yep. I think so.

I would have been dee-lighted to help 'em out,
getting the job done,
and making darned sure that Oversight of foreign criminals was so tight that it would defy a good thought to get past.

You have more faith in politicians than I.

I suspect that they would be just as good as the other two at pretending they're being tough, and just as bad at actually doing anything about it.

Actually, that's not true; I'm not sure anyone could be as bad as Labour. Nearly as bad.

So you'll concede that ditching Blair et cie. would be an improvement.

Sir, I would never defend keeping Blair. He is an ass.

I suppose it would depend on what Blair was accused of.

( Let's say that I think that an accusation of Blair being a perennial pessimist would be about as, er, logical, as an accusation of Osama being a pacifist. )

But returning to the thread: ditch the Labourites, and serve Britain!

( .. 'and save Britain' sounds so desperate. )
