How do you know it was a lady, and not a gentleman?

Anyways, whoever it was, they deserved it. Driving an SUV should be a fellony.

The responding officers took down notes, and examined the DL. Not to mention they saw her.

Good thing I can tell humour.....from seriousness.

too true, we have wars in the middle east going on so people can get enough fuel to drive an SUV. and don't even get me started on Hummers....

Thats not what the thread is about, so chill you two.

God that had to have sucked big time. Methinks that Pathfinder is gonna be an insurance total. Not sure I'd want to even attempt to repair that roofline

Although commercials SHOW SUV's going everywhere, you never see them driving off cliffs, or over safety dividers, or any combination of the two.

Some drivers terrify me. :p

I actually saw an SUV try to climb a large concrete safety devider. No shit, he got stuck and made himself look like a total retrard..... oh wait, that's what he was..... lol, nevermind.

Well, those are the kind of people who would buy those cars.

The only people who actually need them are the ones who live outside of urban areas -- where the atrocious gas mileage evens out with the expanse of open roads.

I have to agree about Hummers, but some people have large vehicles because they need them. For example, my mum runs a flea market, so she's always carting around large items, so she has an old Suburban. When she's not using that, she just uses my car, a VW New Beetle, or my sister's car, a Saturn Vue. Daddy's in the construction business, so he needs to have a huge pickup truck to cart things around. Both are heavy-duty vehicles and can take a lot of intense driving--we use them when we go to my grandparents' farm, when we go out into fields near the house, when we need to drive up huge hills, et cetera. They're not pointless vehicles.

Hummers, however, are. When was the last time a little blonde trophy wife was driving her car through fields to get to a cow who was having trouble giving birth? Last time she took something like a dresser across town? Going to buy a shower curtain isn't going off-roading.

Seriously, I'd have to say that's probably totalled. The frame is probably bent, and as Duntscruwithus said, that roofline is going to be a PITA to fix.

Though most of us preffer pickups out here ... I want to be able to haul a real load when comin into town and not have to bring a trailer ALWAYS (though often do)

Could be like when the elderly lady drove through the whole front entrance of one of the buildings at my work (and into a dining hall sending two people to the hospital)

She thought she had it in park ... bent over to pick something off the floor and hit the gas

Actually, women are generally better drivers than men. At least from my experience they are. If they're not cops etc (I've noticed that cops can't drive at all).

But still, I think that for example stepping on an edible mushroom at least should make one's day worse than hitting unnatural obstacle with an unnatural means of transportation. REALLY.

LMFAO. What did she do, hit gas instead of reverse? I may be too young to take driver's ed, but I always thought you were supposed to shift into reverse.

On an entirely different note, I blame SUV ad campaigners. SUVS are far more likely to roll over than smaller cars... and people are generally retards when it comes to driving outside of urban areas anyways.

Neither can ordinary citizens who live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. :D

I agree, not really for political reasons, just for the amount of space they tend to take up on the road. Most SUV drivers seem to be female, and bad at driving as well.

It's not that cops can't drive at all, it's that they're allowed to disobey any speeding law they please, so they don't bother paying attention to them.

True, but it was (probably) her fault. I'd say that you'd have a worse day if something less bad that wasn't your fault happened to you. For example if a wasp decided to sting you seventeen times while you're sitting there doing nothing. She'll probably try and sue...

Hmm - my dad's had a pretty lame day so far. First off it's his birthday and he has to go to work. That sucks for starters. But just to cap it all off - my mum forgot his birthday. Her own husband, who she had been married to for, what, 25 years or so, and she forgets his birthday. What the hell man?

It is funny to see those dainty lil SUV drivers their first time on a gravel road. Particularly when they figure out how much gravel shifts under your wheels.

I love my pickup, it may only get 18mpg but I wouldn't trade it. You never know when you'll have to cut through a cornfield.

Lol we got rain last night ... I needed 4 wheel drive to get out of my driveway lol (to be fair if i was unloaded it would not have been an issue but took in one of our bailers to be repaired)

Roads are fairly good around here, it's only an issue in winter or as I said if you're forced off-road when you're doing something. Winter comes around I have to throw three or four semi tires in the back for weight. Had 18 inches of snow winter before last.

... Yeah from small town minnesota... feel your pain

And the roads are alright here (if neglected in the winter) but we have a few low spots in our driveway (well the long one that goes through the fields)

What do you use for weight? Last year I used about 1200lbs of wood we had from a big tree we cut down, but it tended to slide around a lot. I'd considered tractor weights but I figure they have the same problem. Suppose the tires are the best method since they don't move.
