Oh, now the Feds Decide To Do Their Jobs

Oh, like removing illegal immigrants. Which they've done a remarkable job of NOT doing for a while.

Mind you, I think it's a silly thing - if they're employed, I think they should be able to be citizens.

Deport the felons, etc., but keep the people willing to be productive members of society.

Apparently, this is going on all over the country right now

Nothing like suddenly doing your job when someone notices you're not doing your job.

I find myself in agreement, only I'd go a step further: deport felons even if they're not immigrants! I mean, the British used to deport criminals, and look what happened as a result... Australia! Who knows what magical place will be born if we do it too.

They're not enforcing it nation-wide yet. They have to target the employers, not just the people who've come here.

There's a place here in town that employs about 800 latinos of varying degress of legality. INS has been called hundreds of times, they're ignoring it. The company has the right people on payroll.

that means they are not doing the bidding of laws and taxpayers but working for someone else who orders them to ignore it.

Same as the drug problem, no one gives a rats ass if you remove the biggest fucking drug dealer there is, but remove a few dozen part-time users and wow, you're getting shit done, votes++.

Deport them where? With illegal immigrants, that question is easily answered, but what do you with someone whose family has been here for centuries?

Well, one needs to find a place that has room for them, and where the political climate is such that there can be no effective resistance against our new policy.

That is, nowhere. I don't think any nation is going to be happy about the US shoving criminals down their throats.

I guess you could ship them to Antartica, but that would be a little inhumane.

Heh. Well, most nations might not be happy about being invaded by the US either. Sometimes nations have to just accept it anyway. That's what I meant by a place without effective resistance. There are plenty of those.

The Bush Administration could fuck up a cup of coffee. Let's not use them for a benchmark of success. Besides, the Republicans will never deport criminals, same with the Democrats. Too many criminals are voters. ;)

That's why we could really only deport our criminals en masse once I take control of the US.

I view the entire War on Drugs to be a waste of time and money.

All drugs should be legalized. In fact, to enhance the Darwin effect, most should be freely provided in quantity by the government.

If people want to kill themselves, we should help them along.

Ah ha. Make a condition like that and some Mexicans will start pooling money together to make businesses where they give themselves jobs.

Canada! What do you mean there are already there? None of these 'facts'! Just fo it anyway, and then seperate canada from the US. They probably wouldn't object.

And the problem with them running legal businesses, paying taxes, and employing people producing goods or services is what?

They should kick out every illegal and make them come here LEGALLY and let Americans have first crack at those jobs.

Odd. The construction contractors around here will pay 17 dollars an hour for day laborers, no questions asked. They can't find enough of them.

So far, the only people I see lined up at the pickup points in the morning are immigrants - mostly from Salvador and Honduras.

Most of them are illegal aliens.

They're willing to do the work - there isn't anyone else in our area who is willing to work for 17 dollars an hour.

You could come get a job here in the morning.

They can come here legally, there is no excuse for rewarding criminal behavior.
