Apparently, since Clinton, the president has had his own +4 for private mail. The mail with these four magical digits is given directly to the president, rather than a secretary or the Secret Service ;). Did you know this? How much would you pay for those four numbers?

IF only I were a friend of the president...

Woah....we could SPAM the President!

Or a subscription to a porn magazine...
Ah,the possibilities.

I don't know how US ZIP Codes work, but if it's only four digits surely you have a one in 9,999 chance of getting it right?

For just the price of a few thousand stamps, George Bush could be reading your letter tomorrow.

I dont know how the zip codes work either, but if you get a lot of your friends to buy A LOT of stamps, then the president could be getting your spam

They're talking about the +4. You know, the unique code that identifies your house as different from all the rest in that zip code.

For instance - 63673-4339 would be a zip + 4. That 9 digit code refers to a specific house. Either that, or this particular 9 digit code doesn't exist. I just pulled it out of thin air.

Theoretically, the Zip+4 is all that is needed for a letter to arrive at its destination.

All of the mail shall be addressed to "Occupant".
And all the mail shall be wrapped in envelopes with a legend denoting it having been sent priority mail from an STD-oriented health clinic.

I perfer the British system. Just put the name of the person and the postcode. That's it, post office can work it out from there, but they do prefer you to put house number/name and post code.

So letters to me at the surgery are simple...

Simple isn't it?

But what would you spam Bush with? Subscriptions to the Sesame Street magazine? Anthrax? Tough call...

Highlights magazine, and maybe some grammar courses. And calendars, to remind him that we are in the 21st century now.

I have to try that...but aren't there sometimes more than one house under a +4? My town ahs one zip and there are far more that 10000 houses...and buildings.

Then you have more than one zip code.

EDIT: Keep in mind that smaller post offices may not be equipped or the mail carriers not familiar enough for a zip+4 only letter to go through to its destination.

No, the whole town is one zip code...perhaps some don't have a plus four or there are less than 10k buildings...idk
