why are people so vicious...

I mean if i respect your opinion why can't you respect mine?..
i noticed on a few "politically sensitive" threads .. people tend to get vicious... so lets try a not vicious topic...

like what kind of music do you listen to

Does any one honestly still play starcraft

Hitler and the NSDAP go far deeper than just historical fact. Any sort of argument can arise from them. The only safe discussions here are usually those involving sex...and even then...

People are typically are not vicious in the slightest. Most could actually stand to be a little more vicious in how they approach other ideas, with as little respect as possible until ideas are shared.

I try to be a devil's advocate in every thread, so there are threads where I have made it a point to disagree with just about everyone posting.

To the point though, viciousness is only harmful to those who cannot defend themselves. While it may not be prudent in practical situations, viciousness can be most prudent in the realm of ideas.
