Luposlipaphobia: The fear of being chased around the kitchen table by timber wolves while wearing socks on a newly waxed floor.
Claustrophobia. Just thinking about cramped spaces can elicit sweats, and during lectures or when I go to the theatre or cinema I have to sit next to the aisle. Even three, four seats into a row, and I can start panicking. I tried sitting in the middle once, and I had a huge anxiety attack, so, umm, people let me sit next to the aisle nowadays. :\

i am absolutely pant-wettingly terrified of spiders. i don't mind small ones but anything bigger than a few mm across gets me scared with the fear rising exponentially with size. there was one the size of a 50 pence on my bedroom wall the other day. it stayed just out of reach as it crawled around in the direction of my bed. in the end i remembered i had some insecticide spray so i sprayed it and then it sort of rappelled down from the ceiling on it's web - pretty amazing to watch really but i wasn't impressed enough to let it survive so i squashed it with a shoe. i'd be very emarrassed if anyone could see and hear me when i have to deal with spiders on my own - i flap my arms a lot and make funny throaty squeaky noises as i try to breath.
i'm also pretty freaked out by the idea of parastic worms, particularly those ones that leave your body at night to go exploring or whatever. eeuuuuaaarrrgghh they're so nasty.

Funny how cheesy films can sometimes scar you like that, whereas truly scary movies don't. I think it's because you're feeling more relaxed watching them so when something a little disturbing pops out it shocks you more than it should.
I had a similar problem with getting my hair washed at a saloon, due to that awful remake of 'The Blob'. I saw it years ago as a kid and can only remember one scene in it, where the blob oozes out of the sink into the hair wash basin of the local hair saloon. When the haridresser pushes the women back into the basin, she gets her face eaten by the Blob.
I still feel uneasy whenever I get my hair washed that way! I always check the sink before I get on the bed.

As for me, I'm pretty freaked out by dead bodies... I think if I came across one I wasn't expecting, I'd have a total fit.
Is coming across a dead body likely going to happen?!?

See? This forum is seriously underpopulated when it comes to the French category...not that anybody's complaining. :p
I was hiding from the inevitable torrent of python-orientated bs that follows anything vaugely related to one of their films. You know what i mean.
Couldn't understand what they said anyway.. rediculous language.

Liasia']People who say they aren't scared of the Blair Witch project are bullshitting:p
I can't even sit past the first 20 minutes of saw- i can only last until the woman gets the thing off her head and then i run away. Me= complete pussy.
ppl who say they are scared by BWP have obviously never been camping. If they had, they would have spent the entire movie thinking, "Ok. That was dumb. I wouln't have done that. Why aren't they doing ..." and so on.
As well, they would never have seen a really, truly disturbing horror movie, like pretty much any Japanese Horror movie these days.
Audition isn't scary, but is very disturbing.
Very.
Saw...I don't know why ppl liked the movie. I found it too contrived and a 'try-too-hard' at grossness and unsettling scenes, to the point they weren't unsettling. Just..meh.
As for me, I can't think of any true phobias. I have lots of fears and dislikes of things. But nothing that I think can be classified as a phobia.
I don't like heights for example, could even say I'm scared of them. But that's normal and considering my appalling lack of balance, very understandable. So scared of heights, but I love climbing things and last year walked around the outside of a building 250m above ground. Because I was attached by a bungy cord, I felt safe (ish). If I had a phobia, I couldn't have done it.
I think my one almost phobia - in that it's sort of OCDish, is public toilets. I have to wipe the seat clean and put toilet paper on it before I use it. I then have to ash my hands thoroughly afterwards and use a paper towel to open the door. If something dirty touches me, I can'feel' it for hours afterwards.
I almost wish I had this phobia:
Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia
Not a phobia of long words (which would be quite funny in itself), but an irrational fear of the number '666'.
I just noticed that Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobiacs is 31 letters long, making it longer than antidisestablishmentarianism or Floccinaucinihilipilification, thereby surely making it the longest non-technical word in the English language.

Tis true, but my camping trips are like 'go 5 metres into the wood.. get drunk'. You can't get lost in English woods, they aren't big enough.

maybe that's why it didn't scare me too, it was a long time ago so i don't remember at all what i was thinking at the time.

not "my friend". "A mon avis" means "in my opinion". And if you're going to get technical, it's "more beautiful", not "better", but that makes no difference. Good job on the translations. :D

Nope. None at all. I wanted to learn it, but never got around to it. The only other language I speak fluently is Mandarin.

Id love to learn that, but iv'e been told it's quite complicated and i'm not particularily well motivated:p . Spanish is much easier than French and (i'd guess) mandarin.

Well, it's quite different from western languages, and it's grammar is not very well structured. If you went to China and spoke to them in grammar that's as structured as English (supposing you don't have an accent), the people would stare at you like you were crazy.
Spanish is easier? Hmm...I should bug Tweety to teach me in exchange for French lessons.

Much of it is very similar to french and english, so you can transfer alot of it. The verb structures and grammar are frenchy.

I guess. I was thinking more that technical terms as meaning long-winded medical terminology or scientific names for things.

If the light catches just right, their eyes glow.
And I wouldn't recommend coming to Middle Tennessee. We have moths that are bigger than hummingbirds.

Spiders. They creep me out....
The annoying thing about that is, I remember distinctly not being afraid of spiders as a child. Then my best friend started to get into the "I'm so scared of spiders"-phase, and I played along, running around and screaming at the sight of a piece of lint that could have been a spider (in my defence, I was 5 years at the time). And before I knew it, my subconscience must have decided if I want to be scared of spiders, it can easily supply the adrenalin each time I see own, turning the pretended fear into real fear. Curse my childhood!
On the other hand, if I weren't scared of spiders, I might be scared of something else... something even more ridiculous, possibly.

Spiders. Ones that are smaller than a quarter (including legs) Im perfectly okay with. But whenever I see a huge spider I get freaked out and then I go into an adrenaline rush to kill it.

When we have pep-rallies or whatever they are.. at school, they have the band play. They play really loud.
For some reason, I get goosebumps and feel like I'm having a panic attack.
