I find it hard to believe that there is not already a thread for this, so if there is, ignore this.

This is the officially "least discussed" World Cup game as of yet.

Angola have put forward a few good moves with sadly no end product and Portugals passing has been more fluent and they play a pacier game whilst the Angolans seem Physical and Patient. Hopefully we should see and Angolan goal in the next half.

By the way did anyone else know the Angolan keeper is currently without a club?

For having been able to keep Portugal out of their goal for most of the game, Angola is not very good at attacking...

Well, game over.

Portugal wins 1-0.

I had hopes for Angola. Oh well.

You must admit there's a trend going on... the really good teams are having to put up a fight against the weaker times. Like Trinidad/Tobago vs. Sweden, Paraguay vs. England, and today Portugal vs. Angola. Its pretty insane, ya?

I would have expected Portugal to score 2 or 3 goals.

Is it just me or have none of the "favourites" managed to impress so far?

Germany has shown off its new style of play, including its weaknesses. England was just crap, as was Holland (or we might call it "Robben FC"). Argentina didn't deserve that result, and Portugal even less.

Maybe the Italians or Brazilians will shine, but seriously, so far the best team was either Cote d'Ivoire or Mexico.

Remember that these are all good teams. There are no 'minnows' any more.

Even the teams from South America (who have the easiest qualifying) have to finish in the to 40% in the continent to get to the finals. That means that any team in Germany, including Angola, Togo, Paraguay, T&T etc. are good enough to pull of a suprise on their day. Then add to that the pressure put on the 'favourites' by the world's press and it is not suprising that the results are 1-0 or 0-0.

The second set of group games should give better indicators. For the first game each team is too nervous normally.
