I personally would like to live in the 90s, because of cheap gas and the good times.

I agree, the 90's were a lot like today, but pretty much everything was cheaper.

You stopped one decade short. I'd want to go back to the 40s and punch Hitler in the face... :) Good times.

Probably the 90s. I suppose the 60s would be fun, but there's the whole Vietnam thing (we had the draft here too).

The 60s. Great music, incredible cars, cheap gas and casual sex. Unfortunately Vietnam and the Cold War come with that lovely package.

I would second thatI have friend who rants on about the 20's, but he isn't specific, so all I really know is that he wants to live in 1920's Paris and have a beret. Enlighten me as to what the 20s were like.

The 90's were awful, sometimes I wish we could have just skipped them, even if that would mean I would only be eight now.

Also, I voted 70's, 'cos I've been watching a lot of 'That 70's Show' recently, and that show is g-o-o-d.

90's obviously. Pretty much the same technology but gasoline was cheaper.

I'd be able to tell people that yes, the Red Sox WOULD eventually win the World Series. :)

Yah, I have no clue why anyone picked the 90s. Well, I sort of do.
The first 7 years of the 90s were great. Just like the last 8 years of the 80s.
The two combined had to be the "most excellent" span of time the world has ever seen. (imho)

Personally, I would prefer to be living in the Holy Roman Empire, as one of its elites. Maybe even the Habsburg Empire in 17 c. Since neither are on this poll, I'll have to say right now.

The Habsburg Empire had that by then. Or something akin to it, anyway. Not sure about the HRE.

There are several periods of time I'd like to go back to and visit - but with the knowlege I currently have.

I'd like to do the 1970's, when I was a child, so that i could enjoy much of that time period.

Part of me would really find it adventurous to visit the US in the Civil War era (1860-65 ish), but the lack of medicines would make it a dangerous venture.

I'd also like to visit WWII era Europe and the US.

I do know that, being a gay man, going backwards in time in any way shape or form would not make my life any easier (unless I visited some pre-christian cultures like Greece - but I can't speak Greek)

Greece was actually a very masculine society. When men had sex with men, it was more because of a "look, I can make this guy suck my balls" kind of thing. It was all about dominance, not love and caring like it is today.

That's still hot :p...and most ancient Greeks were fair and blonde...hmm...maybe I'd like to pay them a visit. :)

Of course, there were romantic homosexual relationships back then, but like you said, the most of it was dominance.

Well, the guy I was quoting before this thought that they were romantic relationships, so I just felt compelled to enlighten him. I don't mean to insult you, but it must really suck to be gay.
