So I was reading my local paper yesterday and came upon a letter in the opinion column. It was from a woman that was argueing that science and religion are not necessarily separate.

"What a refreshing stance" I thought, " in comparison to the usual "no god/no science" types of letters. It's nice to see some common sense once in awhile".

Then I got to Dear Abby (a long running advice column for non USians). In it was a woman asking if circumcision would "cure" a young relatives homosexuality.


And my buzz was killed.

The problem with common sense is that it isn't common enough.
